Shouldn't exit polls be trickling out right about now? I'm all amped up. That officially makes me a dork, but hey, I'll take it...

Tick Tock Tick Tock
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
I don't know if this is just based on the sad state of affairs in this country right now or what, but i get the feeling that this election won't be decided for days, and will end up stinking quite a bit before the dust clears.
Hope i'm wrong tho.

Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
^^ I think I'm just gonna sleep on it...TV is just going to be a bunch of people paid to sit there all night and say stuff like:
"well it COULD be the Republicans...BUT, you can't discount the Democrats just yet. So, which is it? Well, I think it's the Democrats...unless the Republicans win. But based on my calculations, if the Democrats can add two more seats here and win in these four counties over there AND also appeal to the senior citizen voters without alienating the younger generation...then the race will still be a toss-up."
I can't take the suspense.

Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
so Lierberman gets re-elected this time as an independent...did that many more people vote this time around?
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
looks like they got the house, but the senate might still be up for grabs. locally, the incumbant party won everything(democrats)
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
At least the election commercials won't be on TV for awhile. They've been really annoying the last few days.

I gotta say...wow, what a comeback! And after his own colleagues pretty much told him to get the hell out... The irony now is that if it does end up being a close race for whatever reason, his value is only going to go that much higher...he'll have both sides kissing his a@@... That's gotta make him smile.
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
how are the channels. i refuse to watch TV for the next 3 days. (outside of the NBA channels)
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
bleh...Wolf's bumbling and rumbling and cutting people off half the time, while Brit sounds like a moron as usual...I've been catching my local TV mostly to see how they cover things in the state...
CNN calls House control, FOX not quite as pushy on it...
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
and the race of the night: Virginia Senate
[97.42% IN] R- ALLEN 1,113,013 49.50% D- WEBB 1,108,291 49.29%
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
^^the MO race is coming down to the wire as well -- it's flipped back and forth the last two times they've updated the numbers. Currently:
McCaskill 819,895 Talent 804,342
With 81% reporting
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
Good morning America and welcome to a Democratic controlled House and unless some weird re-count issue in Virginia and Montana a Democratic controlled Senate.... I just can't wait for the Republican spin on this.

Oh, you haven't heard? They've been setting it up for weeks now. Losing one or both of the majorities will help (ahem), "Recharge their batteries, refocus their efforts to return traditional values America and restore the GOP to a more organized, galvanized party."
Apparently it seems they felt they had too much control and this change is just what they needed - just ask Ann Coulter.
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
Well, anyone who pays attention to anything I've written in this forum in the last few years will know that I'm just pumped this morning. The party is officially over for Bush and his cronies. I feel as though a great weight has been lifted.
We can probably expect that the Senate situation won't be hashed out right away, but that isn't really all that important, imo -- the key was eliminating the rubber stamps, which was done by taking the house.
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
What amazes me is how close the races have been the last few years. It seems that each election time has some recount involved.
What amazes me is how close the races have been the last few years. It seems that each election time has some recount involved.
the last two amind's have polarized the country with the ''us or them'' attitude, and nothing is getting done. we have literally become 50/50 and half the place will never be happy, unless we stay where we are now and keep 80% unhappy.
well, at least for the next 4-6 years, we will have nothing, as opposed to a lot of wrong outside the economy.
i cant beleive harold ford lost, i mean, i didnt want him to win b/c he openly revealed he was a party line guy, as opposed to what he was campaigning on, but wow im schocked, everyone was saying he would take the state easily. the only other one im not happy about is santorum. he stayed out of military and security chairs, and stuck with social service aspects, and he was great on the council, he rammed through the bills on autism, stem cells, welfare re-adjustment..... shame, he was one of the good guys in the discrace we have in DC>....
boy the last 3 year have been shitty, but the slide stopped, but i dont think any positive movement will happen for awhile, we're gonna see some petty retribution for awhile.

Really? Of the toss-up states, I thought that was the one the Dems were least likely to pull off. That negative campaigning took its toll in the last week or so, and he was solidly down in the polls...
the only other one im not happy about is santorum. . . . shame, he was one of the good guys in the discrace we have in DC>....
 I don't know that I've ever seen anyone describe Santorum as "one of the good guys." Even though everyone knew he was going to get clobbered going into Tuesday, he was the one guy whose defeat drew a mini-celebration at the Casa de Toasty when it was announced. The guy's views on social issues were beyond archaic. I honestly believe he has a problem with the idea of women working, FFS, and his views on gay issues shock the conscience.
Of course, what do I care -- don't have to deal with his bigoted ass any longer...
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
stop listening to whatever you are listening to.
vote smart. go there, and look at the bills he put forth, how he voted and observe.
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
stop listening to whatever you are listening to.
What I'm listening to are the words coming out of this guy's mouth. I don't give a shit what he voted for. He's a monster, and that sort of intolerance is unbefitting of the third most powerful guy in the Senate.

+1 Good riddance to that POS.
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
funny enough santorum and ford the two elections I'm happy about the results. Santorum was a religious freak and ford, well, if that's the direction of the democratic party, we might as well have a two party system made up of the republicans and the republicans light, cause that is essentially what ford is.
Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
as the last few years have taught it wont matter. we stopped GW. now we wait.

Re: Tick Tock Tick Tock
so essentially the dems had to outright win to ever get invited to lunch at the white house...pathetic.
