Republican Rep. Bob Ney of Ohio has resigned. He faces more than two years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts stemming from a probe into disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Back in the late 80s/early 90s it was the dems turn and I believe everyone remembers the republican round 15 or so years before that ;)

Yup, corruption breeds itself. Too much power and you become overwhelmed. As Sightless said in another thread any guy tryling to get elected for there eighth term needs to be replaced. I'm afraid to say it, but it would happen to all of us.

Our system of governemnt really depends on checks and balances, which we have been sorely missing for too long.
