quietly, ill tell ya i agree with his view on soros's idea of income redistribution. i earn my money, i will never hand it over to someone who was too dumb to obtain an education and job. (sorry was reading an arguement online where the author was quoting o reilly for a minute on the direction of the US economy and why we need to prevent it from happening)

I'm actually in the middle about that...I don't like the extent to which it happens here at all, but the way O'Reilly tells it, it would come down to a linear redistribution, which is completely untrue: the high taxes also make it possible to invest in measures which will prevent a greate rift between rich and poor which might have a destabilizing effect on society.

jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezes...that says it all, really. And what is this thing with 'Culture Warrior'?? The man has the effin guts to call himself a culture warrior? He wouldn't know culture when it nails him from behind man, seldom have I seen such a prejudiced demagogue and populist like him. The American laws aren't flawed...naaaaaaaaaaaah theyre perfect, why rethink something that is perfect, right? The name Culture Warrior in itself should tell how badly this man suffers from tunnelvision IMO.

The amount of income distribution in this country has reached ridiculous proportions, any way you want to look at it. The pay of CEOs and top management reflects nothing to do with performance, only privilege (very often by by birth) and that is an unfair burden on our society. Those at the bottom of the employer/employee hierarchy have seen no real growth in income, yet those at the top have seen exorbitant growth (even in times of recession). So is that truly earned by those who receive it?

The guy pissed me off in this interview so much because I hear more and more sounds from conservatives using our country as some doomscenario, some kind of sodom and gomorra. And when people love Holland, it's because they think you can smoke pot everywhere, do lines, fuck whores and whatnot. But that isn't the case either...that we have a liberal law here doesn't mean that there is unchecked freedom around here. It makes me sick to be condemned as a moralless society by one that puports to be an advocate of freedom - or at least by it's conservative elements, but is not ready to accept that some people or societies as a whole makes choices that are different from the choices they would make.
It is utterly hypocritical that it is exactly the part of US society which says it's bringing freedom and democracy to other parts of the world (the right-winged, conservative part) which also seems to have the most problems with countries with a more socialist-based culture, or a more liberal culture? What is so fucking scary about a country that think you should take care of everyone, even if that means taxing the full income, not just 90.000 for example?
It's ridiculous that a guys writes a book on how [I]he[/I] thinks American society should be, and then calls himself a fecking culture warrior. It's an opinion presented as an absolute truth, and his behaviour is not only critiqueless towards the US political policy, but borders on cultural narcissism IMO.
