I'm not entirely sure where you got these numbers from, but I read an article in the Denver Post recently (like within the last 2-3 months) that said overall traffic in Denver had risen above even LA. Like I said, the article said we were number 1 or number 2 now, so I'm thinking these numbers are just a little outdated. It might have said we were RIGHT behind LA, but I know I remember we are #1 or #2.
Trust me, the traffic here alone has made me think strongly lately about moving somewhere else, anywhere else.

But seriously, the fast lane analogy is dead right. The driver's here in Denver really piss me off. The speed limit is always just enough for them, and usually its 5 under.
Most people in Denver just don't know how to drive. I've never come as close to road rage as I have in the few times I have driven in Denver. Fucking amazing - it's like being trapped on the highway with senior citizens.
Driving 5 under the limit on the highway would have gotten you shot in Texas. ;)
And krelm, the reason why traffic in Denver suxx so bad now is because of Californian's and Texans. ;) No offense to you, but Denver has become a variable hot spot, and is also VERY HIGH on the list of places everyone is moving too. And the majority of people moving to Denver are from California or Texas. I swear, I've driven here long enough to see the changes take place. 5-6 years ago, Denver was a great place to drive, people actually knew how, and drove civilly in Rain sleet or snow.
Now, all the texan's and Californian's have no frickin clue. They're utterly clueless. Sometimes, it begins to trickle and people start driving 5-10 under the speed limit. Even after a tiny bit of rain. And seeing people drive in the snow here is utterly amazing. You will see one stupid Texan who has never even seen snow, drive about 5 MPH even though there isn't too much snow, more like slush. And then you'll see a stupid Californian in his SUV who thinks hes invinsible driving 60 MPH and spin out right in front of you.
Nothing against Texan's or Californian's, just learn how to fricking drive in Colorado weather or get the hell out of my city or at the very least out of my way. ;)
