Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

Clinton just keeps getting angrier as it goes.

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

which actually is hurting him in a bad way. he shows how he can jump around a topic as opposed to addressing an unpopular topic, essentially what he did for 8 years. he kept us very happy by masking a lot of the trouble in the world. lets not forget there was plenty of military action under his admin that wasnt covered by the media.

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

really kinda a rough topic. i wish foxed showed a little more respect. to have 9-11 blamed on you is not an easy thing to digest.

tact was the word i was looking for.

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

whatever, he shouldnt even entertain these people. he did his job, sometimes greatly, sometimes shitty. he should just enjoy retirement and forget the things he swept under the covers.

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

That was awesome, he didn't jump around the topic. Once he started Wallace wouldn't let him finish.

true to some degree. i think he is trying to re-cover his image to a degree. the 9-11 battle has been going on for some time. Frankly the USA fucked up, and that is in any stand point you take. defense or offense.
That was awesome, he didn't jump around the topic. Once he started Wallace wouldn't let him finish.
i think he did well. like i stated earlier to have the finger pointed at you and say " you killed 1000's of Americains because of your neglect" is really a tough blow. i would choked the fucker. no matter who.

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

he will never recover his image. his record is fairly good, but his image,..... especially after asking the prosecuter to define ''is'' under oath on national TV.

listen, he had tons of pros and cons, he had great relations but was terrible with ensuring the economy was on the right track, his security can be viewed in two lights, one saying he avoided a large effort by simply launching missles and walking away, or he did enough via talks, negotiations to hide and push problems aside in an effort to address the positive as opposed to the negatives. bush tried to tackel the negative as opposed to addressing and pushing the positives in foreign matters, albiet in the most hap hazard and mis executed manner due in most part to rumsfeld.

like i said, he has nothing to do with our country outside of the fact that bush 2 made clinton and bush1 the international representatives for US goodwill. let the guy enjoy retirement,he held us afloat well enough.

wow Clinton owned him

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

not really, he berated him. and avoided answering the question.

oh yeah, condi slapped back today. check the papers. clintons terror czar was still there for 911, they say there was no plan, and she is barking on about how they tried too...

whatever, the more teh damn media blow this up the more useless arguing will occur.

#715827Post 12 of 24

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

avoided the question? More like wasn't allow to answer the questions. But Condi, yeah, her credibility is ZERO with me. Didn't get to see the 60 Min fluff piece on her yet, but I love when they try to humanize them so we might forget how she was part of the conspiracy to lead us to war.

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

sad part is, the only ppl who give a damn are the clintons and the finger pointers. they all share blame all the way back to carter and reagan i say. these terrorists didnt all of a sudden hate americas policy in 1993. they hated us before they will hate us after. can we get a petition going to tell these asshats to shut up and solve a problem that exists today. there are more important things going on than whether or not there was enough done 10 years ago to get a scumbag.

It's FDR's fault!!

Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

Clinton is a politician, but he's a politician that no longer has to worry about being elected -- and perhaps more importantly, he is human. Ever since the post 9/11 love-in (when everyone was afraid to criticize anyone) ended and fingers began being pointed, people have been critical of Clinton, saying he should have done more. I don't care who you are, when people repeatedly insinuate that you are responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, and you disagree, eventually you're going to flip your shit.

FFS, 9/11 actually happened on Bush's watch, and only the conspiracy theorists actually blame Bush for what happened. The reality is that our impression of what the terrorist threat was all about changed on 9/11 in a drastic way. At least it did for most of us -- those who didn't receive a memo entitled, "Terrorists Determined to Attack in U.S."

I personally enjoyed the exchange because he wasn't afraid to call Fox out on, well, being Fox and doing what Fox does. I'd be interested to go back in time and see if what he says about being attacked for being too focused upon bin Laden holds any water.

I liked this exchange:
MR. WALLACE: Do you think you did enough, sir?

PRESIDENT CLINTON: No, because I didn't get him.

MR. WALLACE: Right.

PRESIDENT CLINTON: But at least I tried. That's the difference in me and some, including all the right-wingers who are attacking me now. They ridiculed me for trying. They had eight months to try. They did not try. I tried. So I tried and failed. When I failed, I left a comprehensive anti-terrorist strategy, and the best guy in the country, Dick Clarke, who got demoted.
and this one:
PRESIDENT CLINTON: What did I do? I worked hard to try to kill him. I authorized a finding for the CIA to kill him. We contracted with people to kill him. I got closer to kill him than anybody's gotten since. And if I were still president, we'd have more than 20,000 troops there, trying to kill him. Now, I've never criticized President Bush, and I don't think this is useful. But, you know, we do have a government that thinks Afghanistan is only one-seventh as important as Iraq. And you ask me about terror and al Qaeda with that sort of dismissive thing, when all you have to do is read Richard Clarke's book to look at what we did in a comprehensive systematic way to try to protect the country against terror.
Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

^^here here... chris wallace can kiss my moderate white ass. mr wallace "was surprised by the number of emails he received asking why the president (clinton) didn't do more to put bin laden and al-qaeda out of power"... asshat. "surprised"?.. you work for a station of wingnuts and you're "surprised" your viewers would ask that? no one, and i repeat NO ONE adequately gauged the terror threat before 9/11 to the degree of the actual event. i applaud the man for standing up for himself and pointedly asking chris wallace and fox if they ask the exact same questions to members of the right... which they never do by the way.. you know, "fair and balanced". and by the way, the "spin" that chris wallace puts on this the day before the interview aires is frankly unbelievable.... Re: Clinton on FOX w/Chris Wallace

I agree with Clinton that he didn't do enough and neither did Bush. I blame both of them and all the people in the government working on getting Bin Laden. Bottom line is that we were attacked which means the government didn't do its job.

Clinton did say some off the wall things because he was angry. He asked why the Bush administration didn't get questions about the Cole bombing. Why would they? His administration was in charge. He also said that no one knew who Al Qaeda was before we were attacked. I think plenty of us knew including him that Al Qaeda existed.

There is enough blame to go all around. Even the american people have there fare share of blame.

He said no one knew about Al-Quaeda prior to Somalia aka Black Hawk Down which was in 1992. It wasn't actually till the first WTC bombing in '93 that people started hearing about Al-Quaeda. The Cole bombing was in October of 2000, the end of the Clinton administration, therefore it was up to the Bush administration to investigate when Bush took office in '01...

Clinton did a better job as president and at least he successfully completed the Bosnia campaign. The problem was the American people with their priorities screwed up. More emphasis was placed on what the president did in his personal life (Monica 'Mossad' Lewinsky case) rather than politically.

Clinton said that wasn't Al-Qaeda in Somalia regarding Black Hawk Down. The criticism over the Cole bombing was with Clinton since it happened when he was President. The investigation which happened right away when Clinton was President has nothing to do with the Bush adminstration.

There's enough blame on both Presidents to go around. I don't see the point arguing which one did a better job than the other when both of them didn't do well.
