B -- Dragan Zelenovic, a Bosnian Serb wanted by the U.N. war crimes tribunal for atrocities committed during the Bosnian war last decade was to appear before a Sarajevo court late Friday morning, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said.[/B]

According to the spokesman, Zelenovic's possible transfer to the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague was to be discussed during the session, starting at 11:30 a.m. (5:30 a.m. EDT)

Zelenovic had been held by Russia authorities, but was in Sarajevo on Friday, the spokesman said. It was not immediately known when he was extradited.

Zelenovic is a former military police officer who has been a fugitive since 1996, when he was indicted by the war crimes tribunal. He is accused of acts of torture and rape during a Bosnian Serb attack on the town of Foca in 1992.
