skilling and lay go down
Re: skilling and lay go down
won't help everyone else who lost big time in this company.
Hope they get the max, but it may not be...
Re: skilling and lay go down
I hope these guys rot in hell after scamming middle class Amercians and screwing over Californians during the energy crisis.
Re: skilling and lay go down
The could have learnt something from this trail in Holland, where the top of the Ahold company had to defend themselves for the judge. Their scam wasn't anywhere near the tricks that Enron pulled but they did allow messing with the figures. Too bad they got no prison sentence :(
Re: skilling and lay go down
just another reason why I wouldn't work for some corporate giant like that...there's enough slime to ultimately bring it down while I rely on them for my pension and retirement?
No thanks.
Re: skilling and lay go down
Arrogance & pride brought them down it seems from the beginning to the end. They thought they were smarter than everyone and how dare someone call them out on it. From the reports I read, both Lay and Skilling acted agitated and rude on the stand and were exposed by the attorneys for being so. The jury probably would have convicted them regardless, but if I had been Lay or Skilling I would've apologized or at least shown remorse for what happened.
I think this is a good lesson of corporate greed, arrogance, and pride can do.
