Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage

Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
What I said explains itself. He's an ignorant prick for posting hateful crap like that...
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
What I said explains itself. He's an ignorant prick for posting hateful crap like that...
No, what you did is show how fucking pathetic you are.
Explain to me oh wise one how a picture of Homer Simpson is hateful crap.
Or can you only throw out insults.

Once a day and twice at the weekends, whats your point?
What I said explains itself. He's an ignorant prick for posting hateful crap like that...
its called a parody. you over-reacted like he was burning the koran. chill the fuck out. its when a religion cant laugh at itself that you get people acting the way fundamentalists do.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
right on. Don't start this 'poor little me and my prophet thing' here too plz...i'm sick of whining minorities calling for attention.

Well likewise buddy sarcasm. Zona, posting pics like that makes you look just as pathetic. A picture of homer simpson is not hateful, it's how it was depicted and what's written next to is what is hateful.
its called a parody. you over-reacted like he was burning the koran. chill the fuck out. its when a religion cant laugh at itself that you get people acting the way fundamentalists do.
No, reacting to something that is offensive is not fundamentalism...Your view of it being "just a parody" or "just a drawing" is seen differently to someone else. Doesn't seem to sink deep into your skulls that it's so. What may seem funny to someone may not be funny at all to someone else and is offensive. And doing shit like that knowing it will offend only makes you look like an asshole, and means you're trying to provoke people. Playing victim by saying they're preying on your "freedom of speech" is not solving the problem, learn to respect other's ways and they'll respect your ways and your freedom of speech.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
Dude you've only made 14 posts and about 1/3 of them have been name calling...BAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!8)

lol....I've only called davetlv a couple of swear words, don't exagerate...the rest were regular posts, and not angry at all. If you can't take a debate, then leave the forums. ;)

OK, flip the mirror onto the recent groups.
leave the backing of these backwards societies elsewhere. the rest of the world has advanced past thier dark age views.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
^ | ding ding ding.
the whole idea of freedom is standing up for the right of someone to say something, even if what they say offends you to the core. its either that, or some form of a police state or dictatorship. personally, i choose free speech over that any day.
ohh, and you live in canada there neotron. we have freedom of speech here. you dont like it, MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The world is slightly larger than Holland buddy, I think you can hardly call the islam a "whining minority" religion. Go read a book that has more text than pictures or something
@ all those who think this is "just a cartoon" and it's all ok because of the freedom of speech: it's a simple basic rule of our system that your personal freedom stops where the freedom of the other begins.
Apart from that, freedom of "speech" isn't the same as freedom of "insulting."
Show a little respect and decency instead of having the arrogance to think that everybody automatically shares your perpective.
And oh, if it's ok to post insulting lame cartoons, nobody will mind me posting the following here:

Or even:

Please don't flame me for this or call me an anti-semite, IT'S JUST HUMOR RIGHT??? (someone please tickle me)

And also why its not offensive when published in an Egyptian paper, but is four months after being published in a Danish one?
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
Whilst you make some valid points, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why an image of an olive skined man with a beard is offensive?
That isn't offensive. Depicting all muslims as terrorists, rapists and child molestors is offensive. That's the big difference...
And also why its not offensive when published in an Egyptian paper, but is four months after being published in a Danish one?
I haven't got a clue. Maybe because Danish butter cookies suck? Btw, does it really matter?
OK, flip the mirror onto the recent groups.

Ohhh man does this need some work... LOL.
Well see, again that puts you at the same level of that small percentage that went too far with it. And like them you would be classified as a moron. Yet if you protested it like the others o peacefully, but angrily, then that's fine.
"we find murder, anti gay and anti christian and anti jewish things offensive."
wow, well go and tell the bible belt people that, the KKK and the extreme right winged, neo fascists and neo-nazi's in europe that. They are anti gay, anti jewish, anti black, anti anything that's not white basically and if given the chance would love to see their downfall (let's hope they won't). So what's your point?
Yes it does make you look like an asshole, since there is little respect for other people's beliefs, just like those extremists do...same theme hmm?
4.
whats the punishment for being a homo again?> whats the punishment for a woman having birth out of wedlock?"
Sounds like many other places outside of the Middle East have that punishment...So I don't know about the world being out of the "dark ages". Despite all that technology and "advancement" we have, it means fuck all, relatively speaking we're basically at square one. Like I said...(I don't know how many times) what may seem like a harmless joke to you, may be really serious to them. And like KinkyJ said:
@ all those who think this is "just a cartoon" and it's all ok because of the freedom of speech: it's a simple basic rule of our system that your personal freedom stops where the freedom of the other begins.
Learn your boundaries, go out read a book, meet some new people of different cultures, if you can go to another country and see the world a bit, and get some understanding of other people's cultures, and that there is not ONE single culture (i.e. yours).
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
Whilst you make some valid points, I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why an image of an olive skined man with a beard is offensive?
It's not the picture of the man itself, it's what was written right next to him, in relation to how he was depicted...
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
Neotron, warning: stop throwing around terms like asshole and moron please, I don't see why that is necessary since they are words to be taken personal. Make your point without name-calling please. Okay?
@ KinkyJ: Last time I looked in my country Muslims are still a minority, about 15 to 1. And if you had taken the trouble to read into my other posts on this subject a bit, you'd have known that I do understand the offense that was taken by the Muslims, but not their reaction. It's fucking hypocritical to the max man, if we should accept that it is in other countries official policy to insult and harrass non-Muslims, then they sure need to keep their mouths shut when we return the favour... and this was mildly done so in comparison, if I may say so. Because what happened here doesn't even come close to what they say/do about/to non-Muslims in some parts of the Middle East.
I agree with the editor of Jyllands Posten: it was time to wake the European people up, make them realize what is happening. They were succumbing to the pressure of Islamic interest groups, and the agressive way in which they have been trying to impose their views on our society, like carrying that damn niqaab when working in public places or schools and such.
This whole thing has made one thing pretty damn clear to me: there are 3 groups of Muslims in Europe, maybe more:
1: those that simply agressively want to install Shari'a rule here 2: those that want to do the same, but try to reach the same point slowly and through infiltration of our society 3: those that don't give a damn and/or have adapted to our standards (thank god still the majority among European Muslims)
As for reading a book: go read one yourself. My specialization is Africa's politics and development, though I do try to read into as much global topics as possible. I may be leftist in politics, but i'm not blind, and if there's one thing anthropology studies has taught me, it is this:
my respect stops where that of the other stops. It's a 2 way situation, not a one-way lane. This means to me that I have the right to defend my norms and values, and can ask for respect for them from foreigners just as much as I am supposed to respect theirs. Some Europeans should be reminded of the fact that at some point respect for otherone's culture slowly gives way for the acceptance of it. And I myself do not intend to let it come that far.
keep your eyes open, enjoy the cultural diversity of this planet, but don't lose your own moral basis out of sight. That's all.
Oh, and you live in Belgium, not Belgicum.

Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
im still waiting for even one influential Imam to call his people to peace, not some envoy to europre who has to do the right PR thing, but a leader of a mosque or a brigade. also, when are we going to see a mass gathering for peace amoung the people.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
and kinky, we might not agree or even like those pics, but go on, you are free to post em. we arent going to boot you for doing it. thats the basis.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
Like I said, the world is bigger than Holland
So? Do you hear me denying them the right to be pissed off in the first place?

I live by the same standard, it's just not my only one. And how does this equate to barbarism, trying to defend the constitutional rights I have here? When I was talking about returning the favour, I was talking of the cartoons. Not about slaughtering people.
Apart from that: it won't stop other people from doing to you what they don't want you to do to them. And that's what's happening here now IMO. And it's hypocritical to say the least.
Good for you buddy, I have 3 university degrees, but you don't see me organising a pissing contest, now do you?
Good for you too buddy. You're certainly not living up to them either.
Good for you too buddy. since the inception of the modern day constitutions of all major european countries and the extreme majority of north, central, and south american regions. you can add most asain nations there too. oh yeah, australia.

sarcasm noun [U] the use of remarks which clearly mean the opposite of what they say, and which are made in order to hurt someone's feelings or to criticize something in an amusing way.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
And, we're still talking opinion here too. 'Insult' lied in the perception of the receiver, after that classification it is up to the judicial system to assess it's (in)approriateness.
Do you always judge people without knowing what you're talking about or are you having your period?
Damn, I was about to ask you the same. For a change, try not to doubt someone's intelligence or educational standards simply because you do not agree. That is usually the way to show you are incapable of argumenting your case. If you choose the latter way though, I'm still in for a good discussion. It's up to you now.
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
then put a burka on.. cuz the guy you defend , beats his wife when hers isnt on.
Right, who are you defending then? Adolf Hitler? C'mon man, WHERE did I write that I was defending a fanatic? The only person I might be defending, is my girlfriend who's an Albanian muslim.

See a burka somewhere? No? Quit shouting slogans then...

Hold on, it's time to put my burka on do my ritual prayers
Nah, u got a point there. But I wasn't judging your IQ when I made my picture book remark, I was refering to the level of your comment.
Anyhowz, let's just kiss and make up, shall we? OR I'LL START A FUCKING FATWAH AGAINST YOUR INFIDEL ASS
Re: Breaking News - The latest Photographic outrage
lol :iloveyou:
The post you commented on was probably the first harsh one i've posted on this subject here...talk about bad timing :D I've made so many comments on this shit, but sometimes even a thinker just needs to vent his feelings in a nice blunt, insulting and provoking post. Then apologize and continue argumentating, hehehe....
Ok,let's start all over again.
