yep, i refuse to buy that shit unless i'm somewhere that i cant drink the tap water (ie. mexico). even then i feel like i'm getting screwed.

Dasani comes from the staten island reseviour. evian from a well in colorado
the only that is actually from a natural water source is poland spring. and even that is chemically treated.

^^^ Denver is not a well, it sits on top glacial aquifer system! I hope thats as good or better than natural spring water. ;)
Only reason people think bottled water is so good is because they give it a nice label, catchy name, and it tastes like plastic after sitting in a bottle for some time. Thus giving it that bottled water flavor that everyone thinks comes from a spring. Comeon people.. all water comes from the same source... mother earth, no matter how it's derived.

I've actually read somewhere that tap water is better for you because of the fluoride added to it. According to the article the more tooth decay being seen because everyone is drinking bottled water. Some of the bottled water is actually filtered so it lacks the minerals that are actually good for you.
Regarding the quality of the water you would think distilled water would be better than the average bottled water available.

that's not true, flouride is not good for you. In fact, I heard it may be bad for you. I mean, it's definitely bad in large amounts, and it is a by product when you manufacture certain goods such as aluminum foil, I believe. Some people think that it is in water so that these large companies have a 'legal' way of getting rid of some of their byproducts that otherwise would be extremely costly to safely contain/destroy. I also read that (and I"m just reporting what I read so don't call me crazy) that the Nazi's would use flouride (in larger quantities than we have in our water) as a way to effect peoples minds in concetration camps I think. It has effects like lithium maybe?

Flouride is extrememly harmful and you are correct, it is an inductrial bi-product. Fertilizers? Doesn't matter, this is some erin brokovich type thing thats been going on for some time. It may be good for the teeth, but it's something your body cannot handle and does not absorb.

I've seen this same information elsewhere. Anyways I did a bit of looking around and found out that fluoride is actually not added to the water supply, its naturally occuring, with concentrations of about 0.7 to 1.2ppm. The average fluoride toothpaste is at a rate of 1000 ppm. There a lot of back and forth on this but I think its clear that is should not be ingested (at least not in high concentrations). I drink Fiji water.
I don't know if it is legit or not..... but I can taste a big diference with Fiji vs. other brands of bottled water. I literally can't drink anything else.
Every time I try Dasani or Aquafina, I want to spit it out..... it tastes awful.

long island tap water is the best on the planet. bethpage, hicksville, melville and plainview have all put up signs when they won awards from enviormental groups. i lived in hicksville and i concur, cleanest water i have had.

anyone here ever check out Smartwater? It's vapour distilled and all that jazz...though I'm not sure how that source of the water itself is affected. Infused with electrolytes too from what I can recall on teh bottle. Good water too..prefer Fiji (aside from price that is).

Drinking distilled water is not good for you, long term.
Distilled water becomes slightly acidic when injested, and causes your body to spill more nutrients in your urine. This means distilled water is good for cleansing your body of toxins.... but that constant use will result in loss of necessary minerals.

The problem with distilled water is that it is perfecty pH neutral. 7.0
When you drink water at 7.0 pH, it acts as though it is weakly acidic.... dissolving minerals and nutrients in your body. You then lose those minerals through your urine. So... like I said.... distilled water is great for detox. It will clean you out good... but over time you will be stripping your body of badly needed minerals. That is why mineral water is better to drink. ;)

I like Fiji the most but it is way to pricy for water. Evian I like as well, but also costs to much. I usually stick to the 24 pack of Sams Choice 20oz bottles which taste crappy. The 1/2 a liter bottles are a major rip-off. I hate to buy bottled water, I'm from Missouri and the tap water was pretty good, but I live in Florida now and have no choice. The tap water tastes like sewage and smells like sulfur. Florida water sucks azz...

Yeah. I am in Orlando, and unfiltered tap water here isn't even fit for bathing. :lol:
