Doesn't matter, runningman and Evangelion really believe brainwashing or influencing can only happen in very explicit cartoons, Neoee....;)

Wow...did you miss my point completely. Oh well, time to move on.:what
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
No I didn't miss it Evangelion, I've repeatedly said that I don't like that kind of cartoon either, I have also never said that they are used in the same in the West. What i've time after time tried to ask from you is to look beyond that cartoon and see what happens in your own environment. I just really was amazed about everyone getting so pissed off about one cartoon, while it is only a small thing in the whole business of influencing that takes place 24/7 everywhere around the globe...
It really struck a false note with me to say we should invade Iraq for that...that's all.

iraq?
iran and iraq are completely different.
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
well it would make you wonder that if the USA was smart enough back when they handed out books to Afghanistan to help with the war against the USSR that they have a "new plan" in case this got out of control.. In other words they new the beast they were creating with this.
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
My only point
Give me one example of Western culture that backs up this statement:
I can't think of one thing I've seen in my entire life that has the same kind of message as that cartoon...subtle or otherwise.
Apparently your missing all the game commercials for XBox and Playstation....

Yeah, I've seen that one Xbox commerical where that kid blew himself up...a dozen times
Yao...I'm done dude. I wholeheartedly agree that the same kind of influnce occurs in the West. I agreed with you 4 posts ago. Unfortunately, that is not the point that I'm trying to get across, so forget it.
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
how bout we just bomb the entire middle east to the ground, start drilling sideways like burns did in the simpsons, and then all our problems will go away.
seriously, once we rid the world of the middle east and kim jong, everyone will get along and we can start working on cleaning the fucking planet up.
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
That's what they think about the West :D
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
And the north of the south, and on, and on, and on....

lol, yep :D

It's funny you say that because I've heard the same thing said about the States many times before. (minus the drilling sideways thing and Kim Jing, lol)
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
Get rid of the U.S.A. Ha! We run the world and most of our citizens couldn't name 3 other countries besides their own. Why? Because Americans don't care. You all are second class citizens on Earth compared to us Americans. You're just upset because you don't live here.
Really though, I'm secretly enjoying the world react to this Iran threat. Of course, I wish there was no threat, but I think the rest of the world is now being put in a position where they're going to have to make a hard decision soon about war or not.
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
You're right about that Dave, though if looking back a little bit, don't you think we wouldn't have been in this position if it weren't for the constant prodding of the US in the Middle East? The difference between the US and Europe in their relations with the Middle East is that in the latter one a number of countries has always had warm relations with Middle Eastern countries. That's why so far the bulk of the agitation in the M-E has been directed against the US, not Europe.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to do here: not boast about Europe, but rather pointing out a difference in attitude...Europe has a past of influencing other places as well, they just did it a bit better (= more subtle, giving them the idea they were in control), while the word 'subtlety' is yet to be written down in the US's political lexicon when it comes to that. The US is young, and strong. Like a young bull walking into a penn that says: "now we're gonna do things my way". The problem is that this approach won't last: despite a number of countries helping in invading Iraq and ousting Saddam, I'm pretty confident that for another such action there will be far less support. Countries are shifting allegiance towards the East, to Russia and China right now.
There's a slight chance I get to talk to your ambassador in the Netherlands this evening, although those of Ghana and Nigeria have priority. It would be fun though to have this discussion with him and see what he says...
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
No, I don't think what we did in Iraq has any bearing on Iran trying to make nuclear weapons. If anything, being in Iraq and close to Iran if war is necessary will help us. Iran has supported terrorism against Israel for many years.
And the European "subtle" approach didn't help France and England out with terror attacks recently.

How is being in Iraq helping the US?
The US has supported terrorism against the Palestinians.

Umm, which country went into Iraq with the US? Let's see... oh yes, the UK. How is that "subtle"?
And which terror attacks in France are you referring to? Or did you mean Spain? All the same us Europeans eh? Oh yeah, Spain supported the war in Iraq too...
Brilliant logic
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
???
Yeah, guess he meant Spain. As for the sublety 'not working': I think we're still much more in the green than the US. Apart from that, the extremist rhetorics are still mainly aimed at the US, not the European countries. It's the ones that have let their asses be dragged into this bullshit by the US that encountered some trouble, the others not. Spain has withdrawn, and will most prolly not get any bombings to endure anymore, the UK is the US's lapdog: they fucking deserve it. As well as my country for being the cowardice asslickers they are, sending troops into Iraw after the real war was over. (yea, don't think i'm a pussy that only bashes the US on this one, my country receives the punches just as hard from my mouth).
btw: I was totally not referring to Iraq when I mentioned the US meddling in Middle Eastern affairs, not at all. Iraq comes after that, and is now simple another name on that list. Afghanistan and Iran were your main feats over there. In a negative way.

Thanks :(
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
lol, don't take it personal bro. I praised Spain for having the guts to listen to it's population, instead of following the big players like a puppy. The people wanted out, so they went out. If my own government would have half the balls that Zapatero had, they'd do the same since most of the Dutch people think alike.
Regardless of my personal opinion that they should sit out the ride now, I wouldn't hold it against them if my govt would, just for once, listen to the people they pretend to represent.
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
Let's get this straight Yao - Spain has balls for retreating and the UK deserves to be bombed? Is this the European logic that us Americans are missing out on?
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
No, this my logic Dave.
As for what I said: I think you damn well know that I never meant to say that people in any country actually deserved to bombed Dave, that literal interpretation is a pretty weak game to play, although in this I must admit that that remark was pretty harsh to make. Probably is a result of my annoyance with the fact that a number countries in Europe do not seem to be able to have their own opinion. That includes mine, and in fact I fucking hate the cowardice attitude my govt has displayed. We got one murder here and they call it a terrorist attack, wtf....pantsies.
I think it's just hypocritical to invade a country there and expect them to sit back and let it happen to them. Every country that got involved knew what is was in for, including yours.

Yao, first off you must know how dear you are to me :p :p :p that said. . . .what the fuck have you been smoking.
Ok there are a couple of ways you can look at this - first off you could say that the USA and UK are the only countries with the balls to actually do what the whole of the fucking international community should have done. Thats why we have the UN. And if the UN has any balls than Chapter 7 resolutions need to be more than an empty threat. And i don't give a fuck who is on the receiving end.
We can argue Iraq till we are blue in the face - but bottom line, chapter 7 resolutions passed, action threathened and at the end of the day on the US, UK and a few other brave countries who were not prepred to be blackmailed by 56 + other countries did their thing,
But lets move over to Iran. Iran has two simple solutions here:-
Either allow inspections of existing plants and not develop Nuclear anything or
They can withdraw from the NPT in which case NO country or INTERNATIONAL orgainisation can take action against them.
Its that simple. Either abide by the NPT or withdraw from it. Iran can't have it both ways. Pakistan realised this a number of years ago, withdrew from the NPT, and are more than happy developing their bombs!!!!!
Its a crazy system, but its what we have. Iran has a get out clause, like Pakistan did. Use it or follow the rules.
Simple. I'm sure even Hos would agree with me on this one!
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
lol, i agree with your post, and...I think it nuanced that quoted statement before Dave ;)
It doesn't matter anyway, readin my post back from the last few days i've been off a bit, which isn't suprising. Got some issues on my head, and I shouldn't be posting in this state or take my time to do it. I'm not taking anything back, but I could've gone about phrasing things a bit differently and prolly a bit more solid. Keeping myself busy with too many issues at the same time, lol
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
Yao, you obviously need a holiday. I can highly recommend Israel in March (If the Israeli dance boards are anything to go by Diggers will be here in Eilat. . . .)
Come see the mid-east first hand . . . . . the timing would be great 'cos its close to the elections here, and if other boards can be believed, its when Israel will talk USA into invading Iran!!!!
Now where'd i put my gas mask:twisted:

The NPT was created to halt the development and aquirement of nuclear weapons. It was also created to promote the peaceful use of nuclear technology. By withdrawing from the NPT the global community will see it as an admission, by Iran, to developing nuclear weapons.
There is international mistrust of Iran, because of comments their government make, but none of these comments have been backed up action. Understandably, the mistrust remains, but you can't deny a nation from exercise their free right.
So it isn't that simple.

Now as for Irans 'world' image, IMHO, a little silence goes a long way! The recent comments have been timed to wind up the USA and Israel, and they are working. But i agree with you that they have YET to be backed up by any action. That said, I'm sure the Iranian people - or at least I hope - would rather world attention be removed from them and put else where, but they are stuck with a lunatic President who seems to get his gollies by goading the west at the most inappropriate times!
And don't knock clubbing in Eilat until you've tried it - come over, it will be a blast!
Re: ok, maybe we need to invade iran. not political, just fucked up.
i wasn't knocking the clubbing. i was knocking the fact that you advocated invasion and gassing of your fellow humans.
yes i think it's very tough for the Iranian people. they would rather not be in the spotlight, but they are also very proud people and the president's only redeeming feature in their eyes, is his wish for "the children of Iran to pursue their scentific ambitions".

Dave was just joking with the gask mask bro...it might as well have been me making that remark ;)
I don't really think that Israel and the US will be stupid enough to go to war with Iran...although...you never know these days huh :D
