Things you have to believe to be a Republican today:

Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.

A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.

HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.

Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness, and you need our prayers for your recovery.

You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt.

What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '60s is irrelevant.

Feel free to pass this on. If you don't send it to at least 10 other people, we're likely to be stuck with Bush for 4 more years.

Friends don't let friends vote Republican.

I need to find a list like this for democrats though, it would be even more hilarious.

A lot of things "some" republican's believe in suck, yes. But "all" democrat's are girlie men.

#222437Post 6 of 17

Re:: Friends Don't Let Friends Vote Republican

I feel sorry for you with big balls, 'really huge'. Mine are normal and that is all I need banging around between my legs getting in the way. Its the middle leg that is important!!!

OK. Some of the list are 'right on'. But the way to approach politics is to look at the grass roots, not the color of the grass, to find the problem.

Much of what is listed there is simply politics. Even if you were in Washington, you couldn't change it, and you would only be ridicouled (sp) to death if you tried to hard to change it. ...ie...Democrat Zell Miller, a lifelong democrat, and was the governor of my state. He has and continues to speak up about his party to make changes in the direction he can see the party heading. He is an old man, near retirement. He can see and knows of the changes the party has made to hold on to power. So much of the list are things that either party will do because they cant do things any different and stay effective. Right or wrong, that is the way it is.

So look at the problem from below, where most non-thinking people are not looking. Most non-thinkers are listening to the media, and not looking or listening or reading everything available to them, to truly understand the whole picture. Corruption is there, sure. You put 5 people in any office and one of them is going to have motives which are purely for his own gain.

What do you want? The government to lead you, guide you, and tell you what and how to live? A more socialistic, or its true neighbor, a communistic way of handling masses of people?

OR...

do you want to think for yourself, work for yourself, make choices for yourself, have the freedom to do as you decide to do for your life and family, and ultimately, country? Or would you rather sit here on this computer, work a job, pay your taxes, no matter how much they take from you, never question the motivations of those BIG government thinking individuals, and just LIVE, as ... non-thinking people.

That is truly were it begins. Government from there becomes somewhat 'value and moral based' after 'the size and scope' questions are worked out. People who become Republicans were usually not raised to be that way. Most people think from an emotional side. Democrats tend to be followers, and emotional thinking people, in general speaking. Republicans, generally speaking, tend to be leaders, that is why 'business owners, or corporations' are many times lead by republicans. They also are not usually led by there emotion, but use common sense, and logic combined, without the thoughtlessness of emotion, to come up with their ideas about things or issues. They tend to be more research based, generally speaking, not just listening to the media, and being led like the sheep to the wolves.

My opinion. Democrats in government, are the wolves, in sheep clothing, leading the innocent (non-thinkers), in the direction they want at the time, to keep their power. Not to better our country and our people.

Read Zell Millers Book!!! if you want to 'think' about your party from a different angle. Think about the future, not just the moment.

You know, a lot of people vote with their wallets. As you note, "people who become Republicans were usually not raised to be that way." Is it not equally plausible that people "become" Republican when they become business owners and corporate big wigs because the Republican party protects their interests, as opposed to Republicans naturally rising to the top because of their god-given leadership ability? Greed and money are powerful motivating forces. They play a huge role in my voting decisions, without question.

Democrats can be successful and leaders of their community, too, you know. Indeed, if you look at who is contributing to Bush and Kerry, Kerry's contributors are donating larger amounts (15% of Kerry's war chest is comprised of individual contributions of $2000 or more, and 10% @ $1000-1999, compared to Bush's 8%@ $2000+ and 10%@$1000-1999). Clearly, there are people that are doing fairly well for themselves and that can exercise some independent thought that are supporting Kerry as well...

In fact, I would say that unless you happen to be: (1) a corporate big-wig, (2) a member of the religious right, or (3) in one of a handful of professions, it is you that is being led like a sheep to the wolves if you sincerely believe that the republican party is looking out for your best interests as a citizen.

Mostly, though, I just don't like being equated with a sheep, what with that Sheepfucker guy running around here and all...

you've said yourself, you're a republican, but voting democrat this year to get Bush out of office.

so, which side are you arguing? Doesn't that technically still make you a sheep then by your own argument above? And thus, the next victim of the sheepfucker.

^yes, honeysheepkelley, he's obviously a well thought out individual, i was merely trying to get him back in the clutches of the sheepfucker...turning the tables so to speak. My post intentionally had no solid argument behind it, but feel free to make something up if you wish.

Well, let me qualify that a bit. I was raised Republican, and I've always voted Republican up until now, but I cannot affilliate myself with the current incarnation of the Republican party -- it has discarded the traditional notions of fiscal responsibility, keeping government out of our lives to the extent possible and well-planned foreign and military policy that have fueled my voting behavior up to this point. I'm not really a Democrat, either, though, although probably associate myself more with that party that the republicans right now. I guess that makes me a GDI.

Seriously, though, what do I have to write to stay out of the path of the Sheepfucker? :WinkNSmi:
