cancer patients can be prosecuted for smoking medical weed. way to go america. way to go.

officer: hi, is mrs smith here? mr. Smith: yes she is , hang on

mrs smith: hello? officer: hi, im here to arrest you for smoking marajuana mrs smith: but i was just killing the pain in my legs and the stomach aches so i could sleep. officer: too bad, time to go to jail. you have to live in misery. our government cant tax the weed because too many people import it and are able to grow it in thier yards. so they are making it illegal. maybe you should try some aspirin, i heard it does wonders for chemo patients. montel willaims tells me it works wonders for MS sufferers as well. well, he told me that before i ripped him out of his hospital bed.....

thank you america. ripping our freedom to choose for ourselves one day at a time.

just about all over every news source.

not only is state sovereignty compromised by federal law, but now patients who have been medically prescribed marijuana (and are possibly terminally ill) can go to federal prison.

sightless, you said it: way to go, america.

or as bill hicks said: go back to bed, america. your government is in control again....

Re: way to go america

the one true thing i find disgusting is that in the law making process of america, the bi partisan fighting has lead to the democrats letting manslaughter charges be dropped down to about 3-4 years, while the republicans have made smoking weed in your basement punishable by up to 10 years in prison depending on the amounts of weed they find.

can someone put thier heads together.??

each party is equally stupid and at fault. they are both to blame. leftists want everyone to go to the left and the right wants everyone to their side. how about coming together like we did for about 3 months after 9/11

the silent centrist majority needs a voice!

Re: way to go america

Well...you're free to give them their voice!!!

I read the piece, and it's absolutely outrageous...the balance in the judiciary on these subjects is completely lost. However...that goes for more countries.

Over here its legit by the way, but only growing by govt. approved people, and they have to comply with quite strickt hygienic and legal restrictions.
The Drug Enforcement Agency began raids in 2001 against patients using the drug and their caregivers in California, one of 11 states that legalized the use of marijuana for patients under a doctor's care. Among those arrested was Angel Raich, who has brain cancer, and Diane Monson, who grew cannabis in her garden to help alleviate chronic back pain.

A federal appeals court concluded use of medical marijuana was non-commercial, and therefore not subject to congressional oversight of "economic enterprise."

But lawyers for the U.S. Justice Department argued to the Supreme Court that homegrown marijuana represented interstate commerce, because the garden patch weed would affect "overall production" of the weed, much of it imported across American borders by well-financed, often violent drug gangs.
Fucking retarded...equating it with commercially imported stuff. Moreover...where is the damn distinction between this stuff and harddrugs? It's treated just the same! Kwazy....

Re: way to go america

medical marijuana is direct competition to big pharma. until Pfizer, etc., get the go-ahead to grow and distribute MJ, it will remain illegal.

Re: way to go america

i think they should legalize it all around, make it like alchohol and then impose the same penalties for DWI. what they dont realize is that you are a lot more coherent when your high rather than when you are drunk.

As there is no chemical roadside test that works unlike achol then this is a legal minefield imo.

Am I right in understanding that Justice is challeging because growing weed will lessen the need for criminal gangs to import it. Therefore it makes importing weed a commerical enterprise? This seems very fucked up to me.

Re: way to go america

here's your roadside pot test

 1. look at the guy-- red eye? oriental(PC) eyed?

if so, step two/

 1. take out a twinkie and a snapple. does the person in question start to drool?

yes? step 3

 1. take out a tie dye tshirt and see if the person stares for an extended period of time.

than play pink floyd

You've kinda got a point here, but you don't need to have blown into a breathalyzer to be convicted on a DWI or DUI -- intoxication can be proven through other means, like your inability to pass a field sobriety test. I kinda like sightless's test...

:D

#435854Post 17 of 18

In the UK the only test is to blow into the bag, then if it comes back red it's down the copshop for a blood test. Rumour has it there is a soberity test like the US version now in use.

IMO the fact there is no roadside test for cannabis is on of the reasons it has not been made legal in the UK, it's just decrimised.

true that. in any case, the field sobriety tests are a joke. they are going to give you a breathalyzer test no matter what, which leads me to believe the cops only do the field tests for their own personal enjoyment and/or power tripping.

i watched my friend as he passed 5--yes 5--field different sobriety tests just outside washington, dc. even so, they knew he'd been drinking and breathalyzed him.

the point is that if i ever get pulled over and they ask me to do field sobriety tests, i will say: no thanks, i know they are BS so just give me the breathalyzer now (you bastards). they may arrest me for not complying or anything, but they will eventually breathalyze me and release me (if i'm sober =)...
