The Tea Party are a bunch of fucking crazy uninformed idiots. It is terrible that the dumbest people in the country that scream the loudest get to waste everyone else's time and money holding the economy hostage. That is all.

Shutdown 2013!
Re: Shutdown 2013!
for real. fucking lunatics. I've never heard my dad proclaim he hates any group of people before, like he has the tea party.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
All fo nothing. The economy just looked at this and went pishh, similarly to the Fiscal Cliff, nothing greatly affected.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Except for 800k people not working. My mom might be off work sometime this coming week too if it continues, she will find out soon.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Yeah that's true but we are all hoping that this only a temporary thing,no longer than a week in its duration. Much to do with a stupid Texan who should also last a week, who now has no clue on his next step - it's has come to a point where probably he himself was shocked that this actually happened.
Question: I have not really looked into it and I think i would be more confused than anything as I wouldn't have a understanding for the current context for the American medical system (apart from depictions in Michael Moore documentaries).
Is Obamacare really worth all they hype it has generated - for the better or worse?
Economists say it will end up worse, public agrees it is for the better, I'd like to hear some opinions on this.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
400,000 people that have been furloughed were ordered back to work this morning... that helps. My company is in big jeopardy of having massive delivery delays if the gov't doesn't shape up.

This guy is getting wagged along by the nuts in his party. The limit that both Dems and R's already agree on is the current sequester budget number which has already been mentioned as excessively low.
These Tea Party nutjobs just want to do anything to derail a big piece of the Obama agenda (that he got reelected for too). Boehner will blink when it comes to the debt ceiling though.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
The healthcare system needs help, obamacare is fine with me.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
this thread in summation: get ready to hate righty! annddd..... go! lol
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Well duh. There is no argument that they are the problem. It isn't even a "both sides are to blame". You don't try and shut down random laws you like via defunding. You only do that if you don't give a shit about the process anymore and don't have the votes to repeal it the proper way.
~80% of the USA agrees with me according to recent polling.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
i'd be interested to take a look at that poll. link?
how about the majority of democrats passing a massive piece of US legislature that has huge financial repercussions without even reading it? :what i find a problem with that
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Just googling for shutdown polls brings up:

Also the meme that no one read the bill is stupid. The real problem and why we are at a shutdown? The media and big money. Everything is either my way or the highway these days and thats now how you run a country.
People just absorb the one sided lies they hear from both sides have no idea what they are talking about.
Case in point:

Re: Shutdown 2013!
i didn't see an 80% poll rating in the articles you posted. it sounded a bit fishy anyway...
it's sad that there wasn't much public discourse about the bill before passing it. call it a meme if that makes you happy (not sure if i entirely understand why you're calling it that) but almost no one in charge read the bill in its entirety. that's scary
Re: Shutdown 2013!
70+%

If you believe every congressman reads every bill they pass you are sorely mistaken. Do you think your elected rep understands the technical intricacies of every single bill they pass for their constituents? They would be experts in everything if that were the case.
There was a lot of discourse FYI. Obama made it a major issue of his first campaign. He won. He also got re-elected.
It is a large bill because it is a major revamp affecting 50 states, therefore it will be complex. Laws affecting a major portion of the USA are complex things...thats the way it is.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
i'm aware they don't read bills which is exactly my point. it shouldn't be that way. maybe i'm mistaken but isn't it their job to be versed with what they're voting on?

They are versed in what they are voting on. Not reading every page of legislation they vote on != they are not versed. It has always functioned this way and somehow implying the ACA somehow "snuck" thru because everyone was asleep at the wheel is just stupid.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
lol it's obvious you can't consider another person's view point. i get it. resonator 1, circleup 0
Re: Shutdown 2013!
I can see other peoples viewpoint, but if you are stating that every senator who voted for the ACA somehow had no idea what they were voting on, then that is so ridiculous that I can't argue with it because it is just too silly to be true...

you might remember this gem: Pelosi: - YouTube
They don't need to personally read 600 page bills to understand them. That is what they have advisors for. Those people who actually understand the ins and outs and technicalities of the laws that come across their desks. It would make sense for someone who is versed in the industry a bill is affecting to advise on what it involves, rather than a senator who has no idea of the technicalities yes? Also the "pass to know whats in it" quote is idiotic. Thanks Fox. She means you aren't going to know how a bill works entirely in the real world, until the bill is passed and its effects can be measured in the real world.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
double post
Re: Shutdown 2013!
John Boehner is a fucking twat - dude's trying to save his job before doing his goddam duty and was actually going along with violating the Constitution that he claims to serve. Never have I seen such spinelessness and clueless behavior in being able to try to get shit back on track - one minute he says that he never wanted the shutdown, but says that restarting the government is considered "surrendering". Astonishing that he'll capitulate to 20 fucktards that think that the U.S. defaulting won't have any consequences. He's a goddam business owner, ask him how many times he didn't pay his bills when he was running his shit.
And Ted Cruz - I thought Rick Santorum had some crazy shit to say, but after watching him try to dodge answering any questions about what specific alternative does he bring to the table if Obamacare is the horror it claims to be - what a snake oil salesman. The guy got called out for quoting someone that the author himself said was taken out of context by Cruz on Crossfire. Amazing that someone can make Newt Gingrich seem somewhat rational lately.
Sorry to hear of your government woes guys. I'm pissed to see a small group of people causing such a huge problem.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
The government is acting like children. Just because they can't agree with each other, they let the government shutdown. It's ridiculous. If they can't do their job, what are we paying them for?
Re: Shutdown 2013!
If you are anti-gov't, than having it fail is a good thing, because it discredits it. At the end of the day, the shutdown serves the purpose of the more extreme Repubs who unfortunately are controlling the rest of the repubs.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
^^ +1
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Watching Rand Paul on State of the Union this morning just shows how much in disarray the Republican party is - wasn't that long ago that he was suggesting that the default means nothing to reversing his position.
And to suggest that it's the other party that's caused this is him trying to save his own skin.
At least his dad had the integrity to stand up and re-iterate what he stood for. Rand Paul is no better than the speaker of the house.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
well
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Just imagine, simply apply an equal delay of the individual mandate that was provided to businesses, and this could have been avoided. Now some of the idiots (Dems) who railed against this are trying to save face by crying for a delay, and the so-called President today revealed that his buffoonery is greater than that of Bush II.

Actually no. The individual mandate can't be delayed because the system cannot be self sustaining without it. 85% of businesses are already covered, so their delay won't have an affect. Individuals must enroll at the get-go because the system needs that money.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
That's why me and many others will do our damndest to make it fail, and it's already well beyond self-sustaining. Your flawed premise is people with little in disposable income are going to sign up for an expensive private product they don't want or need. The entire misleading means used to pass it are coming back to bite you progressives in the ass.

PS. How can you say that the funding that is not coming from enforcement of the business mandate won't affect the sustainability of this ponzi scheme but that delaying it for the little guy will? Your unending statist defense makes me sick.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Oh nos. Vinnie is predicting another "you'll get yours" and how he'll be standing there telling us he was right all along. Just like when he.....when he.....
Oh right, we're still waiting for him to be right about something. Being willfully ignorant kind of presents a bit of a barricade towards his dreams of posting on the internet "I told you so!"
God it sounds so limp wristed when he posts this kind of shit.

Them not wanting it is no matter. The fact that they will go to the emergency room and you and I will have to pay for them anyways is the real point that needs to be addressed.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Who died and made you president? Feeling inadequate that your old username doesn't keep your waning ego inflated significantly enough? And where was I gloating? I just want liberty-stifling law overturned and sent to the dustbin of history where it belongs.
Your worthless deflection is duly noted. You act like I'm a lone crazed voice in the wilderness. Most on my side (those who posted here...CircleUP is all that remains) gave up reasoning with the likes of you years ago. On a tangential note, what do you have against limp wrists, by the way? Are you a homophobe? Since when does passion and fire equate to limp wrists? Speaking of limp wrists:
WASHINGTON – DFL U.S. Sen. Al Franken says he’s open to a brief delay of the individual mandate that’s at the heart of the Affordable Care Act if the federal government’s health insurance marketplace isn’t fixed by the Obama Administration’s self-imposed Dec. 1 deadline.
“I think then we have to consider extending the deadline for the mandate, but let’s hope that doesn’t happen,” said Franken when asked what happens if most of the problems with the site aren’t under control by then.http://blogs.mprnews.org/capitol-view/2013/11/franken-open-to-delaying-health-care-mandate-if-website-problems-persist/
Anyone looking objectively from the outside in can see what a clusterf*ck this is. The payment systems aren't even set up for those poor schmucks who do bother enrolling. I'll let one of you progressive geniuses chime in with how many policy cancellations is too many (5 million and counting) for your vision of "universal coverage" to have reached its zenith. Don't waste my time with the flimsy excuse that those were all inadequate. That is a decision for the consumer to make, not the nanny statists and their nearly 2 dozen thousand pages of regulations (in addition to those outlined in the original law).
Putting your total faith in the state to manage something this complex as a one-size-fits-all solution for a country this size is the height of ignorance (unless you get a hard-on at the thought of central planning), so spare your baseless ignorance quips before your glass house gets further tattered.
Re: Shutdown 2013!
Worked for Romney, though the first several months nobody signed up.

Re: Shutdown 2013!
Another poor analogy. Massachusetts is much smaller in size and with a population density that matches. That populous wanted it based on the makeup of their legislature, and it was a state decision. If a constituent doesn't like it, they are free to move to a neighboring state. There has never been universal support for commiecare (not to mention the underhanded tactics and outright bribery used to pass it). That is why "extremists" like me refuse to be silent.
Deflecting to Romney to gloss over the failure of the machinations of your own political hacks would be funny if it weren't so sad.
