"In a letter sent to Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner, the Justice Department ordered the state to end the practicebecause it has not been approved under the Voting Rights Act. Additionally, the DOJ said the purge violated the National Voter Registration Act, which requires states to complete changes to their registration rolls 90 days in advance of an election. Since Florida's primary is on August 14, all maintenance should have been completed by May 14"

Rollingstone, Huffingtonpost, MSNBC, such stalwarts of journalistic integrity.

This DO"J" needs every dead voter on the roll they can muster to continue their reign of terror.

Re: Department Of Justice Tells Florida To Stop Purging Voter Rolls

I despise that Maddow woman, but I tolerated watching her to hear out the whole story. The 48 hour rule seemed ridiculous, so I understand the challenge trying to impose that. The teacher being labeled as a felon, also ridiculous. From what I gathered, Scott wants people to hand in their registration cards personally withing 48 hours of completing them. I agree with the handing in the form personally so that citizenship ID can be confirmed. As far as the 53,000+ voters he wants purged, if any of those voters are presumably dead or illegal immigrants, I completely agree with that and if anyone on that list is in fact alive and legally able to vote, then filling out another registration card is not a big deal. The greater picture here, as no democrat will view it or report it this way, is Scott is trying to uphold a federal law in any way he can, ridiculous measures or not.

Rick Scot coming to "and end" ("an end" if you want to be proper about it) because he is trying to uphold a federal law that the federal government will not? Our nation is really coming to "and end" then.

This extreme political divide the mainstream media thrives on reporting will literally split our country in two.

^homophobe ;)

To her credit, she was giving Ron Paul some publicity recently with regards to the delegate race when no one else was. Of course, since her viewership is already in the toilet, I have to question if the only reason she reported it was to be contrarian.
