borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring ;)
I hope you're saying the same about the weekly Transitions mixes. ;) For being so boring, 2 recent radio mixes sure are smokin' the Proton charts: http://www.protonradio.com/top100mixes.php (I know J compiled the WOT) :p

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

too right i criticise the transitions mixes when i dont like them which isnt very often

where as most of the jody sets have been deleted after 1 listen, i know what grabs me and it isnt usually him

however on this occasion this isnt half bad, shame as i said before he doesnt release enough stuff like this ;)

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

Well, that goes to more personal preference than anything...never been too gaga over Digweed but I know that moves me dangerously close to heresy at MS. :p

Many of the tracks in this set appear in recent radio sets, btw. ;)

agreed. his studio mixes are boring and i usually trash them after the first listen... but this is good. very good.

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

I think most of his studio mixes are very creative and diferent each in their own way. Jody has been on fire this last year actually ever sincehis liveset from ADE. This set had some amazing parts but i thought he got a little too "pop" and used to many tracks with vocals and being that a couple of those vocal tracks were really cheezy. Besides that nice set all around not his best stuff but def solid
I think most of his studio mixes are very creative and diferent each in their own way. Jody has been on fire this last year actually ever sincehis liveset from ADE.
This (except ADE was actually a prerecorded promotional mix ;)). His radio mixes are generally varied stylistically from one to the next and not predictable, making them far from boring or trashbin-worthy. Case in point: http://www.hybridized.org/sets/617

                   01) Paronator - Morning Mist
  1. Hermanez - Marrakech (Martinez Remix)
  2. KiloWatts - Hyperion Hustle (In Retrograde)
  3. Yo! Majesty - Don't Let Go (Radioslave Dub)
  4. Dino Da Cassino & Andrea Doria - Minimalize This
  5. Tom Morgan - Abandoned
  6. CFCF - Arctic
  7. Animal Collective - My Girls
  8. Lifelike Feat. Yota - Sunset
  9. Burn the Negative - Wonder Why
  10. Fleet Foxes - Mykonos (Sandra Collins and Trent Cantrelle Remix)

It comes full circle from prog through to techy disco, techno, psychedelic, retrohouse and indie/prog. If it's not to your liking, well, you just move on to another mix (like this deep house delight) and you get a different stylistic take. If you are constantly complaining about how boring this or that mix is, well, I have little sympathy for such hollow complaints.
This set had some amazing parts but i thought he got a little too "pop" and used to many tracks with vocals and being that a couple of those vocal tracks were really cheezy. Besides that nice set all around not his best stuff but def solid
That's just playing to the crowd, hyping them up, etc. I liked all the vocal trax except for that manically cheesy Frankmusik cut and, yes, some of the synthy/disco house tracks bordered on the funky house echelon of cheese. The most interesting section of the mix was the 30 minutes leading into Gui Boratto. It was almost as if he was righting the wrong of playing that Frankmusik cut. ;)

I This to me was one of the best Jody mixes of the year..The last 20 or so minutes were phenomenal ending with that great remixof mykonos. Just pure class. I guess i can understand playing all those vocals to hype up the crowd but i still like it when he keeps it a little more underground. Anywhoo very seldomly do any of Jody'ssets go in the trash bin. Really dont understand how some people can find them boring but to each their own

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

This set is primo! I definitely dig Wisternoff's style, encompassing the melodies and great basslines. I've enjoyed a number of his other sets as well Evrything is so musical. Its great in these times of such drab boring music. Keep it up man!

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

^ well said hambs.

jody's got styles for miles. it's simple, the ppl who think his content is boring -- just dont have that next level style within them that he preserves; they cant understand it. shit, he puts a ton of effort into all his works, and it's always thorough imo.

btw, didn't jody enter the dmc world dj championships one year? he should do it again. that would be tight.

get ya head out of jody's ass, i can understand you sticking up for someone that you believe in but everyone has a right to say whether they like a mix or not.

shit, digweed has enough grief when he does some shite so whats the prob with people giving your beloved jody some? and quite right on this occasion jody is getting a lorra lorra love for doing something great.

anyway good morning vincent my love xxxx :D

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

And good morning to you. ;)

And honestly, this mix has its moments but I find many aspects of his radio mixes (manufactured or "boring" as some may find them) to be superior (mainly a subjective thing). He was quite clearly playing to a crowd here. I much prefer the above mixes I posted, in fact, where the focus is on the music more than it is to keep a floor moving. I don't like the insinuation that this is great for everyone because everyone is unique as the last page of posts has proven (Floridaorange with his preference for the Urbantorque set, Spacecadet with his preference for the Discoteca). At the same time, having a live representation of his sound is also welcome, even though I may not care for some of the more hypey tracks being used.

The initial comparison that was initiated here alongside the hollow complaints about such excellent radio mixes (IMO) just came across as unnecessary. Call it a head up one's ass if you must. :p Agree to disagree and call it a day but let's not pretend everyone likes the same things.

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

It's true that giants like Digweed and Sasha take much more criticism whatever they do but that's part of them being superstar djs. To be frank, nothing again Adzey or Littles from the GU board, but Jody never plays two identical tracks, it's disco, house, electro, prog, cute vocal tracks like The Diogenes Club or Kid Moxie.

Re: Jody Wisternoff - Sullivan Rooms, NYC 26.09.09

^Totally fair comment...advance to about 116-140 mins for the beef.

Thanks to Glaniskanis at TA, we've got 2 more IDs:

12 = Sharam Jey Feat Cornelia - Army Of Men (Remix) (need the ID of the remix, dope!) 21 = Marchand - Starlove (another least favorite...pushing too far into electrohouse territory again).
