Jamie Foxx most compelling performance. Foxx's acting goes to a new height as he masters the great Charles, finding and perfecting every twitch, jerk, and nuance that characterized Charles. We have watched Foxx grow over the years and this movie solidifies his role in cinematic history. Never before has the art of acting taken on such a personal adaptation and tone this is beyond mimicry, this is absorption. Foxx truly delivers good movie!

Can't believe this is the first post on this movie. We bit the bullet and bought it the day it came out having never seen it before. What an amazing movie. You're right, Foxx's performance is blinding (pun intended) and he just nails the role perfectly.

My girlfriend picked this up for me over the weekend. Really wanted to go see it in the theator but never got a chance. So neither one of saw the movie. What a great movie. Everything about this movie was great. Jamie Foxx did such a great job. I can see why this film was nomitated for so many awards.

From the first time I heard about this movie I just knew that it was the most interesting out there... I went to see it with my girlfriend (who normally likes the sobby kind of flicks) and we both loved it!

I won't spoil the movie but you should definately go there. Jamie definately earns the oscar by performing very convincingly!

Only small thing I didn't like was the lack of handling HOW Ray came up with the songs... they all more or less just pop up which seems too good to be true!

To be honest, I really didn't know too much about Ray Charles before this film. I've heard some of his music, but that's about all. It does a good job at portraying his life.

Jaime deserved his Oscar 100%. His acting was top-notch.

what a compelling story. finally watched this last night with the girlfriend. we both loved it. Foxx delivers the best performance on screen i've had the pleasure of seeing in a long time. its really no wonder he won an Oscar for this role. he fuckin nailed it! the bonus dvd is a complete ripoff though. seemed like only 20 minutes total of extra bonus material. imo, not enough. this movie = 5/5 IMO

music was amazing. you should buy the collaboration CD that starbucks sells. the one he does with van morrison is a wonderful tune. ray charles is a great musician and more people should idolize ppl like him rather than Dr. Dre or Jay-Z
