Watched Episodes 1-3 yesterday...WOWZA. God bless America for spending money to produce series like this! How far are you guys in the States with Season 1? Till Episode 6 only or or was the whole 1st season broadcasted already? I need to know how it continues badly. :)

^I am with you Tom watch 1-3 last night too. Very good - like the fact that there is minimal music and they let the drama play out through the people. The opening scene from ep 1 is frikken brilliant and the tank scene was pretty intense too.

So you are only one episode ahead? Noice. Normally it takes several months or even a year after a season was aired in the States to broadcast it here (synchronized). But it is different with TWD because they seem to synchronize each episode directly after it has aired in the original version.

@Nick: I also really enjoyed the part where they put the "camouflage" on themselves and tried to make their way unrecognized through the Zombies and then suddenly rain is falling and washing away the foul smell. :)

Yup, you seem to be getting the new episodes quite quick. Just watched ep 4 last night, it was also good. The makeup for the zombies on this series is really well done, they look good. I like how it is differing a bit from the comic book and not just rehashing what I've already read too.

I also like the fact that the zombies move slowly and don't have the speed like the dawn of the dead/ 28 days later. it gives the "humans" a fighting change.

This is basically 28 Days Later crossed with The Omega Man with a bit of Zombie Flesh Eaters thrown in. The only thing missing is The Cult jumping out and singing Here Comes The Rain

If anyone out there has a completely unoriginal script about vampires, zombies or aliens they better nip over to the states quick because there is a big cheque waiting for them.

Oh forgot to add, if they shuffle the script about so the programme jumps back & forward in time. Double Bubble

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the comic series, and they've managed to tread on some pretty dark ground with some issues (the cannibalism story arc was pretty fucking messed up).

The TV series is pretty.....different. It's mostly strong, but the second episode was weaksauce with Michael Rooker playing such a thin, stupid and weakly drawn character. You'd figure they'd give the guy who made Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer a better character to play than a very stereotypical redneck (but I will admit, he did redeem himself with the start of episode 3).

Its been not bad sofar...Too bad only 6 episodes are it for the entire first season. But it already has been renewed for a 2nd which is cool.

I need to finish the 1000 page collection I bought the other month for this so I can get further along in the comic. I'm almost finished with it.

^^ yeah what is this crap? Is this the fear to waste money in case audience stops watching a series? Seasons with 12 parts are a joke already (Hello Dexter, True Blood and Californication for example).

Yeah I think so. I bet the production costs on this were pretty high, the zombie makeup and look is some of the best I've ever seen, movies or tv. The zombies look really great. That can't be too cheap to do.

Watched the Season finals last weekend and was a bit dissapointed with the end. It's open ended but not really making me gasp for more. But I will check out the 2nd season nevertheless. You can't go wrong with Zombies. :)

Do yourselves a favor and read the comic book series - it's way, way darker than what they're showing on the TV series, and while I respect the TV series for what it is, it is a separate beast from what the comic book series was - a story that starts at the point where most zombie movies end.

The TV series is deviating pretty far from what the comic book series was touching on (including themes revolving around cannibalism, children killing each other and PTSD), but I didn't expect much from the show to be honest.

AMC hedged their bets when they put the show on the air, seeing that zombies on TV haven't really proven themselves in the marketplace, and zombie movies being hits are proving to be a bit of hit and miss (2004's Dawn of the Dead by Zack Snyder did well at the box office, George Romero's Survival of the Dead not so much). Sure they're a station that takes risks with their own original shows, but a majority of their revenue is advertising from the movies they air - and there isn't that much revenue in that alone.

I finished the compendium last month which was about 1000 pages and the first 50 issues or so, it related to them still being in that prison. I need to pick up the following books and catch up. The TV show does deviate a ton from the book.

Alright so i have watched the first 7 episodes of season 2 with the 7th episode ending on awesomeness. Now have to wait till 12th February for the next segment. Cannot wait what they do now.

Season 2 has been ok so far. The first half of it is pretty boring and it slows down a bunch. The last few episodes which have aired have been much better IMO though.

I think i'm going to skip this series. I can't see this being worth all the hours of watching it over the next two seasons.

I finished Tudor's last night. Great series. I think I can't get into fictional stories as much as I once did.
