New Chris Nolan flick, with DiCaprio :shock:

This looks sick. Chris Nolan is one of my favs even before the Batman flicks, check out the trailer, some type of sweet scifi movie.

Also look at these other stars:

Ken Watanabe Joseph Gordon-Levitt Marion Cotillard Ellen Page Cillian Murphy Tom Berenger Michael Caine Lukas Haas

Re: Inception

While it does look like it has a lot in common with The Matrix, it is Christopher Nolan, who so far has shown that he can do no wrong (yes, and I know he directed the remake of Insomnia w/ Al Pacino and Robin Williams - it was a decent remake).

Re: Inception

This is gonna rock. I love the soundtrack, has the same ominous feel as the Dark Knight.

Re: Inception

Yeah the "baahhhhh" part of the trailer gives me chills everytime. Man if this movie looks so sick.

#1379432Post 9 of 104

Re: Inception

I think the soundtrack plays a huge part in making the movie feel so epic. Without it it'll just be Matrix in your dreams

Re: Inception

yeah, i could see that :D i've loved every movie chris nolan has done since memento which is still one of my top 5 fav's, i bet he picked a script that hopefully wont be a rehash of that.

Re: Inception

First reviews of Inception are coming in...

http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/reviews/review-inception.php
I will say this now, without reservation and fully confident that many will agree; Inception is easily the best big budget film of the year thus far. I’ll go further and say that it’s one of the most beautiful, well written, and fully realized high dollar films of the last five years. Inception, is close to perfection. Christopher Nolan is the reigning king of the non-linear plot, and master of deeply layered narratives that hook audiences and reel them in slowly. He salvaged the reputation of The Dark Knight on the big screen, and retooled the psychological thriller. Nolan’s body of work is compact, with seven films over twelve years — the most recent being Inception; and what an addition to the collection it is.

The Upside: The cast is perfection, as are the visuals and music. Christopher Nolan gives us the first really great movie of the summer. The Downside: I’d have to make something up. On the Side: Christopher Nolan didn’t allow Hans Zimmer to see any of the film while scoring it. Knowing this, pay special attention to the music and be blown away by the results.

Re: Inception

How did he score the film without seeing it? Based on the script? Surely there must be a reference,

#1388565Post 14 of 104

Re: Inception

I don't really know...probably via the screenplay, but he couldn't see the actual film shots.

Re: Inception

Inception - Chris Nolan tops himself. Again.

Saw a screener last night.

Imagine bastard lovechild of The Matrix & Casino Royale, with it being written by Charlie Kaufman as an action minded script writer. Add elements of Ocean's 11 and the Science of Sleep. The result is one extremely complicated, extremely good sci-fi mindfuck of a film.

Seriously, this is one fucking good movie, but very, very complicated as there's a point where four storylines are going at once. See it in IMAX if you can, it's very gorgeous to watch.

Re: Inception

SWEET! I can't wait, sounds like it will be the best movie I've seen since Inglorious Basterds. I was planning on hitting this one in IMAX opening weekend for sure too. Nice.

Re: Inception

Watching some of the promo interviews for this movie and my gosh Chris Nolan and Leo DiCaprio really do look alike with that slicked back hair look. Like father like son.

Re: Inception

Hmmmm... I thought it was alright... great score and special effects...but way to many loopholes. Think everyone will give it great reviews in fear of sounding unintelligent.

Re: Inception

I didn't find this movie to be ground-breaking... I thought the casting was off enough to be distracting throughout and it was pretty boring in many parts since you had no idea what was really going on... If you've seen "The Cell" and "The Matrix" then you've seen this movie already.

Re: Inception

Saw this last night at the Imax theater. If you havent seen it yet or have seen it in a regular theater go back and watch it in Imax. so good.
