until Julia Roberts started playing Julia Roberts. (WHY?)
Absolutely agree with you. Saw this movie with high expectations and now regret losing the 2 hours of my life. An actor/actress that attempts to portray him or herself (when not originally cast as such) is one of the biggest cop-outs a writer engage in. It's as if Nolfi didn't know how to end the film so he conjured up this grandioso scheme of having Tess play Julia Roberts.

The scene with the 'Night Fox' dancing through the lasers is one of the most ridiculous film sequences I've ever seen. I like for the films that I watch to be at least somewhat believable.

There were just too many unbelievable, dare I say hoakey, things about this film. For that I give it 1 out of 5.

very good plot! one of the best movies of 2004

Re: Oceans Twelve

From my point of view this movie sucks. It was really boring and Julia Roberts looks like my granny. Was she really pregnant`?

Think about what you can do with all this stars at one movie set.......At least a better movie than this. Nethertheless, Bruce Willis was a real highlight - but he act only 10 minutes.

Guys...

I watched Ocean's Twelve and Alexander on the same evening, and OT was by all standards the winner. If you don't take it too seriously, it's funny as hell.

Alexander had a babyface, was gay, and frickin' Anthony Hopkins just kept on drooling over the bloody screen. I had to take a piss, was tired, and he.just.would.not.shut.up.

Boy I'm glad Alexander died a young age, wouldn't want to see the rest it...

I thought this movie was a HUGE dissappointment, no where near as good as Ocean's Eleven.

I thought the way it ended was pretty stupid, all that build up for something so dumb. I think they tried to hard to have a great "twist" like Eleven and ended up with something totally disappointing IMO. 5/10 and that is being nice.

Well yeah, but OT still won. The best of shits, if I may say so...

Re: Oceans Twelve

Another movie I finally saw....

3.5/5

This movie was all style, zero substinance. The camera work and visual aspect of the movie was great, and I liked the cast for the most part. Cathrine Zeta looked lucious. But the plot was weak and unsupported, they basically just threw together a resolution.

I too hated the Julia Roberts/Bruce Willis stuff. In a movie that already has too many stars, playing up the star factor is not a good idea. And BTW, Bruce Wilis gave a terrible performance... playing himself? Very stiff and wooden in an otherwise slick and cool movie. Which brings me to my last gripe-- that the "coolness" of the movie was more a product of the beautiful cast and the swave they drew off of the original, so basically they created nothing.

But is was reasonably entertaining, if a bit mindless. Good escapism on a Sunday night.
