Vincent Cassel Gerard Depardieu

What an absolute gem of a film...this is easily the best film of the summer. The performances by everyone involved are truly award deserving ...Depardieu is outstanding and Cassel is mesrine. Amazing...really great film. On par with any of the great gangster classics...will be buying this on DVD for sure. This film really fills the gap that hollywood left open IMO. It shows that great stories still exist and that it doesn't take 20th century fox or Warrner to tell them...

^the trailer looks outstanding, makes other movies that were recently released look amateurish.

Re: Mesrine: The Killer Instinct

had a chance to watch the second part...and oh my god! Its actually better than the first one ...the director did an amazing job! SO suspenseful! Even though you know the ending he has you on the edge of your seat. A seriously amazing piece of work. I am buying this film that is for sure!

Re: Mesrine: The Killer Instinct

I've been wanting to see this. Vincent Cassell is one of the more interesting French actors who deserves a lot more attention than he's getting. Wasn't a big fan of Irreversible when I first saw it, but admired his performance. Really enjoyed him in La Haine, The Crimson Rivers, and Doberman, the last being a bit of a guilty pleasure.

Re: Mesrine: The Killer Instinct

Doberman is a wee bit over the top. I like it, there's some absolutely brilliant moments and shots in it, but there's something uniquely, quirkily French about it in a goofy kind of way.

Re: Mesrine: The Killer Instinct

Checked this out at our art house theatre staple here in Toronto and quite liked it. I was very surprised at the Canadian connection that he had with the FLQ. Reminded me a lot of Scarface, but done with a uniquely French viewpoint.
