Re: The Lovely Bones

i've heard the book's ending sucks, and has pissed off a lot of people.. if the movie ends the same way as the book i bet there are quite a few pissed off people in the theatre.

Re: The Lovely Bones

decent movie actually, however my least favorite type of plot...hard to believe there are people as sick Stanley Tucci's character. Wahlberg did a good job.

Re: The Lovely Bones

Parts of this was really well done, especially Peter Jackson's Hitchcock like moment where the sister is being hunted around Stanley Tucci's house. But I have a bit of a problem at the suggestion that a teenage rape/murder victim automatically gets you into a beautiful place. Kind of a creepy insinuation, imo.

Also, Susan Sarandon's character was a waste of talent and lines - while I understand the intention of her character being a force of helping the family get past their mourning and moving on, it was a very badly played part and should have been handled much differently.

I'm told that the film is a nearly complete departure from the book except for the core elements.
