Ice-T does a little preview of an upcoming documentary on Mike Tyson. Sounds really interesting:

Re: Mike Tyson Documentary

It's a very surprisingly sympathetic and sincere documentary that has him being very honest and straightforward about his failures and explanations of why he did what he did. He still denies that he raped that beauty queen (and the way he strenuously denies it, it seems pretty genuine) and he wholeheartedly admits to being "crass" sometimes.

You still feel for the guy, especially with his upbringing as a kid and how his career was basically compensation for being bullied in a really tough neighborhood as a child. What was particularly touching was his relationship with his trainer, who took him under his wing and treated Tyson like his own son.

It's very good, James Toback (who directed Black and White - rent it if you can find it - there's a hilarious interaction between Robert Downey Jr. and Tyson that goes seriously wrong and was completely unscripted) does a great job of getting Tyson's side of the story and showing that there's more to Tyson than the media image that still haunts him to this day.

Re: Mike Tyson Documentary

too bad it's not a docudrama, so that he could have just stayed the fuck away from Robin Givens.

Re: Mike Tyson Documentary

funny the other day I was going through a lot of mikes past interviews and fights, at the last stage of his carreer he sounded very reasonable and down to earth , I felt sad and happy at the same time for him.

Re: Mike Tyson Documentary

I read this the other day , tyson wanted to be one of the main characters in the last rocky movie

fwd: Did anyone else know that Mike Tyson asked Sylvester Stallone to be the main character in Rocky Balboa? I certainly didn’t…

In what was probably another attempt for Mike to score some serious money, Stallone thought it was a bad idea and turned down Mike’s offer. The reason he gave Starpulse was probably the same one that I would give:

The 60-year-old actor told the website that “Mike wanted to fight me in this film but I thought it was a bad idea. I know I’m not that young, but I’m still too young to die. I said, ‘Thanks, but I don’t think that would be a very good idea. Thank you very much.’

Oh but it gets better…

“But he kept calling the office saying he wanted to be in the film fighting me. Eventually, I relented and said he could be in the audience. Then I never heard from him. Suddenly, when I turn up in the ring he’s there at the side. I turned round and said to the crew, ‘Can you make sure you keep that son of a bitch out of the ring. If he gets in he’ll kill me.’ The man’s a killer.”

Re: Mike Tyson Documentary

I like Mike Tyson. He is crazy as hell, but he tells it is. I respect that.

Here is a vid of some of his more crazy times. Funny, crazy, but def honest and genuine. A role model he is not, but a true survivor of life, for sure. He is only doing what he knows...
