Hopefully this is better than X-Men 3, what a pile of shite that was

#1188426Post 6 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

xmen 3 wasnt that great. xmen2 was the bomb. also gambit is a mutant. he can charge up stuff and use it as a weapon. this is why he always has a pack of cards around, he charges those up and tosses em around.

it was supuse to be 3 movies, wolverine, magneto and gambit, dont know for sure

#1188634Post 11 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

The kid is Wolverine as a kid ... the Origins story reveals that Wolverine has been living for a long long time .. hence you see that scene with the kid and his claws for the first time, you see Wolverine in a war scene, you see Wolverine in the ranch with his first love, you see him going for the Weapon X program.

That is all per the recent Wolverine: Origins series, but the contemporary storyline looks a bit wcked because Wolverine joined the X-men when Scott Summers was already a trainee at Xavier's but the movie revealed him as a high school student ... and Gambit was never part of that era of the X-men ... he only showed up when the X-men were adults and he joined them from some future, and it was prophesied that Gambit is some evil dude who might possibly kill Xavier.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

I'm gonna take a wait and see approach to this. I hope it's good, but there's something about the montage of footage they keep showing that screams "Electra" (the shitfest that was with Jennifer Garner) to me.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

There is already a workprint of this film going around the web. How terrible! Its like an incomplete version...some of the CGI is apparently missing.

#1193115Post 14 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

^^^ Yup I saw that too...but I'll pass... I'd rather watch this in HD when it comes out - just as its supposed to be... too many bootlegs ruining the true movie experience :(

#1193118Post 15 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

I seriously can't believe that people are so eager to see it that they would actually watch an unfinished film!? I can understand some ppl downloading it to see how the cgi development works...but you can like see safety strings and there are scenes missing...lol its ridiculous.

Been keeping track of the story leaks and it's beginning to look like your fear might come true.

I know who she is ... that's Emma Frost ... one of the most powerful psychic on the planet after Professor X and Jean Grey .... but that depiction is way too blinged up.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

Sorry I meant 'unrealistic' like, not faithful to the comic ... Emma Frost is a cool character in the comic and that sparkly shit is ghey.

#1206410Post 24 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

Oh...yeah. But if it was realistic to the comic book there wouldn't be so much hype about wolverine ;) + wait till you watch the film thats not the only inconsistency...

#1206420Post 25 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

There's always been some hype over Wolverine, he's always been the bad boy / anti hero character in the comics ... Wolverine has probalby spawned off the most limited series out of the X-men cast.

I am seriously curious where they're getting this storyline from, wondering if this is based on X-Men First Class which I haven't read.

#1206424Post 26 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

The way they've been fucking around with the character histories makes it a bit tough to want to sit through. I'm all for different interpretations of stories and ideas, but this is kind of straying a bit too far from the source material for my tastes.

#1206546Post 27 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

Yeah, the very least they can do is try to fit these timelines with the X-men trilogy that's already in place. The comics have various spin offs and reboots but comics happen over a long period of time, you just can't pull off shit like that with movies.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

Man did this movie suck. The origin started fairly well then it went all over the shop. Suggest renting this.

#1209910Post 29 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

Not the best that I've seen for the year but an enjoyable watch. Renting it wouldn't be as enjoyable as on big screen imo.

Hugh Jackman is always a bonus for me :p

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

It seems it was done on purpose....can anyone make a mistake like this?? What the hell happened? A leak....?!

:wtf:

#1213089Post 31 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

I think it was enjoyable up to a point and yeah, the action would look better on a big screen but what doesn't? The movie was full of cliches. What's with that lame moon anecdote, and the lame dialogs? That scene where Wolverine was undergoing the Weapon X program was terrible: 'I've been been through worse.' 'No you haven't.' WTF.

As a comic book mutant spin-off, they tried to cram too many powers into too many supporting characters that aren't worth the screen time, and some of these characters have no comic book history that I was aware of.

Also some of these characters don't belong in that timeline (and Gambit looked like a cheap Johnny Depp Willy Wonka rip off), and what's with Professor X showing up at the end? A lame attempt to tie this movie in with the main X-men franchise.

#1213126Post 32 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

I was largely disappointed - it really did a shit job of trying to portray the 70's (yeah, like Stryker is going to have the very first plasma TV to watch the battle btwn Wolverine and Deadpool) and some absolutely huge gaps in logic (why hold off on the Magnum that fires adamantium bullets? Why not give it to Agent Zero if he's such a god like marksman if they wanted to bring him in? Was the nice wooden case they showed it in not ready and still at the shop?). It's better than X3, but not by much. Most characters introduced seemed more there for the point of selling action figures than being anything that actually resembling actual people you can care about.

It made $87 million dollars in box office gross this weekend. And 20th Century Fox is still bitching about the leaked copy. Fuck you 20th Century Fox.

#1213128Post 33 of 39

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

Wow it still made 87m. It's a sad development for the X-men franchise. Wolverine is one of the best/richest characters in the comic and they turned it into shit.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

^^^^ did i miss something here?

I liked the movie... i thought the storyline was kinda overdone but the effects and overall entertaining factor was great.

As good as the 1st and 2nd xmen movie, better than the 3rd.

wish they would of used gambit more... thats one of my fav. characters.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

It's entertaining if you're not a comic book fan I suppose, for all the reasons mentioned above.

Re: --final trailer: X-Men Origins: Wolverine--

same dissappointment as with X-Men 3.

I expected much much more... as somebody said, Wolverine is an incredible character and these guys are close to ruin it. Jackman's perfomance is still credible though. I can't imagine somebody else doing it.
