A film about the thing we all think about when someone mentions Catholic Priests...you know what I mean..anyway... This film does well to portray the human nature and Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep both perform very convincing and powerful characters. Perhaps the best role Phillip Seymour Hoffman has performed...very powerful stuff indeed although I would say he was perhaps out shined by Meryl Streep as the head nun (which of course is not something to take against him).

I don't know about the controversy...but award are in order IMO... its very well directed and the topic is very well portrayed.

I agree, great movie. Streep really played a bitch well; she made me hate her throughout the whole movie. Seymour did an awesome job. In fact, I think all the acting in the movie was spectacular. Definitely loved the pillow analogy.

hoffman has been my favorite actor since Capote, that being said I will wait for this to come out on DVD, i'm not catholic and don't think I would understand the symbolism, etc.

Extremely good movie... the class of acting is top notch!

Initially I was not sure that I wanted to watch it but I am happy that I did.
