Saw the remake of Romero's Dawn of the Dead at the theater and recently bought the DVD. Has there been a better opening scene of any American films this year than the opening of Dawn? Absolutely brilliant.

didnt bother checking this one since it resembled '28 Days' so closely.

I hear ya about it being so close to 28 Days.

Now the opening scene for 28 Days was absolute brilliance in my opinion.

That movie had chills running up and down my spine for weeks.

Just thinking about that guy walking through the empty city gives me the creeps.

:?

i'm skeptical even about checking this out

Convince me - why should I see this movie?

Not a fan of the genre - but if it is somehow outstanding (story, effects, underlying idea etc.) I might check it out...

So, what's the best reason to see this one?

Re: Dawn of the Dead (2004)

It is not such a good movie , not the worst but only bad!

maxman-do not waste your time and/or cash seeing this.If you're not a fan this wont turn you believe me,its just ridiculously bad

It's good ol' fashioned zombie fun! I saw some of it being filmed, the mall they used was right behind my house... before they demolished it

But, in my opinion, it does not come close to the terror of 28 days later. I wish they would make a sequel that shows what happened during the 28 days!

As far as remakes Dawn of the Dead is pretty good..........

Shaun of the Dead was good, but got bit tiresome towards the end, same jokes got a bit repeatitive, though the scene where they eat the gay with glasses is more gruesome than any other zombie film I've ever seen

As for 28 days wasn't fussed on it, but 'sooper' idea of sequel about what happened during the 28 days is class - maybe you should copyright that

OK! That way, to make the movie, they'd have to appease me, and I'd demand a lot more zombie nudity!

(i'll take boobies anyway I can get em)
