i like very much this movie is awesome......i like how the manage the times......i think its kind of butterfly effect but i like more this one....

#296452Post 2 of 49

my translation of that /\

"I really liked this movie, it was awesome. i liked how the time would bounce around in the movie. it's similar to butterfly effect, but i liked this one more than that."

i too liked Eternal Sunshine. weird movie. neat to see jim carey doing something other that silly noises and faces.

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

one of the best movies I've seen this year

#300441Post 6 of 49

Completely agree. Classic.

#300953Post 7 of 49

I saw it in a plane in August I guess, so I don't know whether it's the bad seats, the small screen or the bad headphone tehy provide...

But I really didn't like it. And I am a fan of the genre (like butterfly effect, Donnie Darko etc.) -si maybe it just didn't tick for me....

#304602Post 8 of 49

The film is amazing. The director has definately been doing drugs since he was seven...maybe eight

#304819Post 9 of 49

The film was awesome..but i.m.o the core of the movieshould have been purely the jim/kate relationship. The Psychiatrist and his mistress element was a little too unbelievable

#304873Post 10 of 49

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Brilliant movie.... the production was phenomenal and how they handled various elements of bouncing back and forth through memory was not only imagined and crafted spectacularly, it was even extremely well edited in the movie...

from what I saw, the idea that the only essence of humanity (i.e. ability to love or fall in love with that one special person) cannot be wiped out really grabbed me.... amazing.... I mean how deep rooted were the effects of it all that even in a memory wipe out, they both decided to re-unite (of sorts) at Montauk.... that to me was the most touching aspect of this flick......and not only that..... inspite of all our troubles, disagreements, and love hate relationships that we all share, given the chance to start anew, we all somewhere would still be willing to take that chance is very well captured ....
The Psychiatrist and his mistress element was a little too unbelievable
I actually thought that this was one of the striking / key elements to completing the entire love theme of the film.... it was not just Kate who felt the need to turn around and fall in love with whom she was.... even Kirsten somewhere had deep rooted effects inside of her despite her wipe out.... and in fact IN SPITE of her actions i.e. sending out all those tapes to people who had gone through the treatment and hearing all the nasty things they had to say about their loved ones and STILL trying to give it another chance was caught very well...

birlliant film.... I was VERY VERY surprised at how well Jim acted ..... he didn't have his usual and mundane dosage of his MASK idiocity and I was even more surprised with how Elijah put on the front of a horny teenager trying to make his way through this lonely world.....

I would defo be catching this movie again ....

they filmed this right by my brothers apartment. literally, they walk past it a few times. RVC in the hizz-zous

#306210Post 12 of 49

Where is RVC? This was filmed in Boston or Maryland or something?

Anyways, I thought this movie was absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking in a way. I'm almost scared to see it again because it is so moving to me. In a sense it has a postive message, but man, was it a good movie.

Also, I didn't really like butterfly effect, I thought it could have been good, but it was a little to 'obvious'.

#307462Post 13 of 49

finally, i got around to seeing this movie. i absolutely enjoyed this movie. i wish more twisted movies came out more often. kaufman is one of the best writersif not the best writer in hollywood. Adaptation was great, being john malkovich fucking ruled. cant wait to see what he has planned next. Carey that man was fucking brillant in this movie, Winslett now i have a way better movie to remember her by than that fucking chick flick from 98 called TITANIC, anyways thats my two cents.

#307476Post 14 of 49

jim carrey is at his best in this film. can focus do any wrong?

#307499Post 15 of 49

i dont think they can.

#307548Post 16 of 49

really liked this movie, loved all the characters and the twists in it... good to see Jim Carey in a role like this, looking at the preview you wouldnt think he could pull off such a role but he does with style... little weird when he goes back into his childhood and brings her with him but crazy ideas throughout this flick... cheers all :Cheerz:

#313255Post 17 of 49

Cool movie. I had to explain what the hell was going on to my wife, she didn't understand what was happening. Fighting memory erasure is a nice concept.

#313423Post 18 of 49

yeah, i liked the part when hes a baby again and he wants hes cookies, also he looking panties

#314155Post 19 of 49

I loved this movie, it was very creative and imaginative unlike most movies out now a days.

#315108Post 20 of 49

Kate Winslett was the real surprise for me here. I saw glimpses of Jim Carey's ability in a more credible role throughout Man On The Moon even though overall it was rubbish.

But I couldn't stand Winslett before this and she turn me all around on her.

Brilliant writing, witty, funny, real, engaging, and beautifully/imaginatively shot.

One of the years best for sure.

#320765Post 21 of 49

This is definitly one of the best movies I have seen all year. Everyone should see it

#320770Post 22 of 49

Anyone who has ever been in love would love this movie. My second favorite of the year (right behind Sideways).

#320837Post 23 of 49

sideways is that good?

#321252Post 24 of 49

Sickboy yes it is. To me at least.

#321289Post 25 of 49

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

it was a strange movie indeed....i felt like i had to be on acid to really follow it....so they just keep erasing their memories and meeting up over and over again? Weird but good....

#323094Post 26 of 49

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

yes, this movie is one of my favorite, jim carey did a wonderful job, i like how things was plotted in his head mean while at the same time in real life

#325350Post 27 of 49

Poignant...Jim Carrey is so versatile, I love these kinds of quirky, satirical, yet serious protagonist roles for him (The Truman Show pops into mind). Supporting cast was good, I was impressed with the cinematography, great angles and direciton behind the whole thing.

#329650Post 28 of 49

ho man that movie is fckng good, love it, feeling like see it again......

#331130Post 29 of 49

#333261Post 30 of 49
kaufman is one of the best writersif not the best writer in hollywood. Adaptation was great, being john malkovich fucking ruled
I've been meaning to see this movie, but I didn't realize it was by the same guy who did Adaptation and Being John Malkovich. Now I must see it!

#337706Post 31 of 49

yeah, that movie deserves some fucking awards man. best movie all year. It makes you laugh, feel sad at the same time.

#339410Post 32 of 49

#341281Post 33 of 49

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

i think this movie is dealing mostly with the EGO of humans and how can be overcomed in certain circumstances. though i believe that if there is a book it will be wicked....

#344694Post 35 of 49

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I didn't really care for the movie so much I think its really rather hit or miss, people seem to either really like or really hate it, I kind fall between, it was worth a watch but I won't be back to watch it again.

#364176Post 36 of 49

Loved it. Kaufman is the king man. Adaptation is still my favourite, but this was really cool, I had to buy it. 8)

#365647Post 37 of 49

i've been pleasantly surprised by the play of jim carey. excellent movie

#365675Post 38 of 49

Re: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

i thought it was awesome just because it takes a completely unique approach to the genre of romantic films. everyone should give it a watch because of its unique approach imo. thats what i respect most about it.

#366082Post 39 of 49

i've seen this a few times now, and i appreciate it a little more each time. really love that scene with carey in the kitchen. highly imaginative.

#366151Post 40 of 49

^^ you wanna appreciate a movie, light a bowl and watch Contact.... let the movie get over....let your imagination run wild..... and discuss the whackies possibilities with the person who watched it with you.... then watch it again..... and see the different things you realize about the movie.... I have still to watch the movie and have it give me the same effect..... GREAT flick
