Re: Gran Torino

It was pretty good. I don't think its worth best picture nods, but it is definitely a must see!

Re: Gran Torino

Liked it a lot. Funny seeing it with a bunch of blue collar old white guys in the audience and hearing them chuckle.

Clint Eastwood will the be the first actor that I will truly lament the passing of when he finally dies. (not counting people who died before their time).

Great movie and surprisingly funny. His constant grunts had me laughing each and every time.

Would recommend.

Re: Gran Torino

I found it to be quite long. But the time constraint really wasn't an issue with me. i found myself really sinking into the film...too bad it didn't end the way I was hoping, but oh well.

Re: Gran Torino

good story but i think the acting by the other cast members was a bit piss poor. Eastwood did well, but everyone else's acting was just shit imo. in my eyes, that really hurt the film--felt like someone was taking their fingernails and scraping it down a chalkboard.

Well that's his way of the studio giving him 100MIL for a movie and him hiring a bunch of unknowns so he doesn't have to pay them as much, and therefore he get's to pocket even more $$.;)

Re: Gran Torino

Good movie, felt like I was watching the lifetime channel at times because the scenes did not transition very well...however the story line is good and reminded me of my grandfather. I personally think No Country for Old Men is a far superior film, but we are all of course going to have different interpretations and opinions. I give it a 7

Re: Gran Torino

Saw this last night. 8/10. This movie kind of just sucks you in. Good character development throughout.

Re: Gran Torino

It's an interesting deconstruction of his Dirty Harry type of character that made his career. For that I admire it, but it isn't one of Eastwood's best.
