This guy has appeared in some TV series (MTV Undressed, Cold Case, etc), but he doesn't has a film history. He's very young and we expect to watch an excellent movie instead his performance. I'm a comic fan & is mandatory to obtain good results from this production.
After conducting a lengthy worldwide search, Warner Brothers has announced that 25-year-old unknown Brandon Routh has been cast in the title role of the new Superman movie. While Routh's casting has been known for several days now, this is was the first time the studio would publicly and officially confirm it.
"We respect and appreciate the intense interest that our fans around the world have in Superman, and we went everywhere in search of a talented actor who would represent his look, character and presence," said Jeff Robinov, President of Production for Warner Bros. Pictures. "We think Brandon is a gifted young performer who can re-energize this iconic character and excite new audiences about the legend of Superman."
Filming begins early next year in Australia for a summer 2006 release. The screenplay was penned by Michael Dougherty & Dan Harris. Jon Peters, Bryan Singer and Gilbert Adler will produce.

well ill wait anxoius for this movie...
lame. it'll bore me to tears with special effects as so many movies do. :( they shouldn't mess with the originals. :evil:
its the same director from x men and i found x men to be quite surprising.. expected less from that movie though

i think tom welling(smallville) will be best....he looks more like superman......in my opinion......anyway dont know what happend......

I was never a huge Supermen fan. I liked the movies don't get me wrong, I guess I just didn't love them. I have a great deal of respect for Christopher Reeve as a person however. His accomplishments in the most difficult role of them all, life, will be what I remember him for.
