RocknRolla
Re: RocknRolla
I saw it a few weeks ago (it's been out a while in the UK), and if you like Lock Stock or Snatch, you'll like this. There are some very funny moments, but it is very much like Guy Ritchie's other films. Gerard Butler is good, Tony Kebble (Dead Man's Shoes) is .
Overall, very enjoyable
Re: RocknRolla
good to hear, i like lock stock
Re: RocknRolla
:Bingo::Bingo::Bingo: awesome !!!!!!
Re: RocknRolla
I didn't think that much of this...I mean it was good after you swallow up a load of bullshit. All in all same old same old from Guy Ritchie.
Re: RocknRolla
Very well shot, Ritchie's got style. Story's the usual convoluated mess, but the picture is even better shot compared to Lock and Snatch.
Re: RocknRolla
between this and shoot em up, i think these types of movies shoulda stopped after snatch.

Dont urt me Arch, I'm only liddle
Re: RocknRolla
I dug this a fair bit. It's not anything really challenging for Ritchie, but considering that last two projects where he decided to "stretch" himself (the two messy miscarriages that were Swept Away and Revolver), it's nice to see him doing something watchable and entertaining again.
This got me looking forward to see what he'll do with Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law this fall.
Re: RocknRolla
Hmmm didn't know he is shooting Sherlock Holmes ... interesting ... I wouldn't have imagined his flashy style suitable for a character like Holmes.

They're taking a bit different approach to him, and kind of playing around with the mythology of the character that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had done with him. There's going to be a bit more emphasis on the character and the skills he's acquired over his lifetime (ie. his fighting ability) rather than going the straight observation and gathering of clues that many predecessors had taken. With Robert Downey Jr. in the lead, maybe they'll take a look at Holmes' coke habit too.
Re: RocknRolla
he has too much narration at the beginning of his movies but this movie kicked into gear in the 2nd half. would love to see a sequeal (the real rocknrolla). the russians chasing those guys was a great scene. b
