Re: Top 5 Scariest movies

i highly recommend this one......"last house on the left".....

one of the ultimate thrillers. freaked me out every time i saw it, its old school, psyche mind style works terrific. nothing gory about it, (i.e. not a freddy, jason flick) but completely realisitic and creepy. :Who:

also, anything with rosie o donnell. :ChatterB:

christ, if The Ring scared her.. check out "House of 1000 corpses" the movie Rob Zombie did.. talk about a fucked up scary, bizarre, gross movie. she'll love it!

also The Mothman Prophecies I thoght was pretty good suspense, not so much horror, but just creepy.. because that sort of shit most liely really can happen

Re: Top 5 Scariest movies

the ring was scary?

well i'd go with The Shining, The Exorcist(original), Poltergeist, Hellraiser, Candyman was decent, thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

disturbing movies i thought were 8mm with nick cage, Seven...

i've seen tons more but i'll post as they come to my mind.

^^^^ I just had no idea what to expect. and there is no reason for a part two, lol.

i also just heard they are coming out with a sequel to The Ring.. i thought this movie was stupid. good concept as far as the girl being trapped in the well. but they lost the plot on this one i think. where could they possibly go with it... anyone else hear of this sequel?

Ths Shining IS one of the ALL TIME greatest. It doesnt get much better than a psychotic Jack Nicholson!

Re: Top 5 Scariest movies

I think for me the scariest movie ever was the blair witch project, Of course it was because I thought it was really a documentary... I went to see it twice, I was so involved in the movie, great back then.... I wished it had been a real documentary

Some ghost in a house movie which title I forgot. I was around 12 or so and I was scared to death after seeing this, I thought it would exist also in my house, so I always slept with the pillow over my head so noone could see or touch me...

Re: Top 5 Scariest movies

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Scary in it's own right, plus even more creepy knowing in the back of your head that it's based on true events. Yeehaw.

Darkwater The Eye The Shinning The Hole (been traumatized since I was 10, it fucked me up cause I think its still scary & I havent watched it since then)

John Carpenter's 1982 remake of The Thing. Alien (The Director's Cut) Tale of Two Sisters (Korean horror/suspense film) Kairo (English title: Pulse - what Fear Dot Com should have been) Ju-On: The Grudge

#289717Post 17 of 40

i would have to go with the shining, evil dead 1, the exorcist, the others and the telletubies! yeah i think i got that right!

#290025Post 18 of 40

Re: Top 5 Scariest movies

 1. Exorcist
 2. Ring
 3. Grudge
 4. Entity
#290066Post 19 of 40

Can't think of 5 really scary ones, but 3 that kept me awake for a bit after the lights went out were...

The Shining (timeless) The Darkness (haunted house flick with a twist) Session 9 (so bleak, so freaky)

A few others that get honorable mentions are The Blair Witch Project (had me a bit jumpy for a few hours afterwards) and the whole Ringu trilogy (Japanese version).

Watching Pi while I was so stoned I could barely think was definitely a harrowing experience - but I was too fucked up to know whether it would classify as scary.

-nice recommendation.

When I was younger a movie called Happy Hell Night left the light on for weeks! Good luck finding it though.

Most of the jumpers have already been named, but if you want twisted some twisted films: Audition (Japanese) Tell Me Something (Korean I think) Event Horizon

#291525Post 24 of 40

My top scary movie ... err well not really scary but really good suspense is The Others. Funny thing when I watched it, I didn't know what it was about so it really gave me a good scare!

Re: Top 5 Scariest movies

Ringu Part 1 (the original Japanese version of the Ring) has its share of spooks. Lately none of the movies have been scaring me other than the odd Jumpy moment.
