Not really into actual shoot em up war movies,but platoon was brilliant.

i go for [b]Saving Private Ryan[/b]. The movie deserved every damn award it recieved. The acting, directing, and story were the work of a true genius, this movie should be seen by every person on the face of the earth. And the second one will be [b]"The Pianist"[/b], it`s a real masterpiece, there is nothing more to say. The acting is perfect, the direction is outstanding, the story, the visuals, etc. You have to see it, no excuse.

Saving Private Ryan = Number 1 war movie for me..

Others that would follow in no particular order would be:

Enemy at that Gates - Good Sniper movie (Love being the sniper on Call of Duty Game) Apocalypse Now and Full Metal Jacket. Cant think of any others that I've seen that come to mind.

Anyone remember a classic war movie about some Highschoolers in class and all of a sudden russian parachueters come down... These kids start fighting them off and for some reason are the only ones fighting against this attack on America... ?

I would say it was between '85 and '90. Can't remember any actors but I picture on of the 21 jump street guys on there.. the on with the long hair...

I totally forgot about The Three Kings and Starship Troopers. I wouldn't really call The Three Kings a "war" movie, but awesome none the less. Starship Troopers was campy sci-fi fun at its best.

memphis belle enemy at the gates midway in harms way the longest day we were soldiers sands of iwo jima tuskeegee airmen platoon bravehreart the messenger hunt for red october (cold war i guess) k-13 widowmaker ( " " ) dirty dozen the great escape tora tora tora patton the purple heart run silent, run deep all the old rambo deer hunter

and a few others i can't remember names to.

i even thought that spike lee film, miracle at st anne, was good too.
