It's a shame that Frank Darabont's screenplay wasn't selected for this movie.

I loved the first three parts but Harrison Ford is pretty old already. :| I don't think this movie can keep up with the old movies but I' ll go and watch it anyway.

#356892Post 17 of 61

As long as Lucas does nothing but give money, it'll be at least okay.

"You...don believe me? You will, Dr. Jones. You will become...a true believer!"

#361436Post 18 of 61

Can't wait till the fourth Indiana Jones comes out but isn't he getting to old.. ?

#361584Post 19 of 61

It's a shame that a sickly looking old dude can still pull so many of the worlds top quality chicks and pretend to still be able to outrun boulders at what... 65? And all of us will line up and pay the $15 to get in and watch him do it. That's the shame.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

i just hope it holds up to the first 3, which are some of my favorite flicks of all time...

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I recently watched again the first 3 movies, I think Temple of Doom was the best of the series.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

hopefully stephen spielberg keeps those stupid, snippy "catchy" movie quotes down to a minimum in this movie. the trailer looks great.

"snakes...why did it have to be snakes??"

#1012527Post 35 of 61

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

well I hope he keeps it true to the first part rather than having the un-necessary silliness like that annoying Chinese boy (who popped out of the Guniess or whatever that film with the retarded pirate is called) in part three..."Indie, Indie what happens if i press this button oh ur dead"...oh well

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Overall outcome is mixed - not horrific but not amazing - overall I really enjoyed it - but you have to avoid a couple of really farfetched sequences. If you cant ignore those, then it becomes a little more dire. I went to an early morning matinee and only paid 5 bucks I certainly wouldnt pay full price for it.

I went in with the lowest expectations possible - and overall I think they did a good job. Its definetly to their credit that they set it in a time when Indy was old. Theres is lots of humour , there are lots of nods to the old series and they bring back a character from the past. Lots of action sequences.

farfetched spoliers:

there is a fight sequnce with swords on top of 2 jeeps which is just ridiculous; shia lebuff swinging thru the trees on vines faster than a jeep can drive is stoopid, and Indy surviving a nuclear blast by sitting in a refridgerator is moronic.

Re: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

i had mixed feelings too.

Some great sequences, some funny moments, but some very far fetched bits that kinda take it out of context for Indy.

Its a blatant LucasArts / Spielberg bonanza and filled my sunday evening nicely.

Not the best film though, but glad ive seen it
