Re: Breaking Bad

This episode was great! maybe I didn't get that adrenaline rush that i got from previous episodes but how well the director managed to reduce the revolutions preparing us for what is about to come next, truly makes Peter gould a genius.

At the same time with this episode I realized that heinsenberg was born the moment Walt left grey matter and the company became a multi million dollar enterprise. He is pissed off and he is coming to slay the schwarzs !!!!

Re: Breaking Bad

Latest episode was a breather, the lull before the storm, perfect setup for the gangbuster this weekend.

Yeah I think in his conversation with Jesse in White's house when he said he was in the empire business, he finally revealed that missing out on Gray Matter has been eating him all these years.

Re: Breaking Bad

I forget what that is about? Is that the company the couple he wanted to borrow money from a while back? I vaguely remember something like that...

#1699292Post 324 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

He founded the company with the guy, and for some reason sold his shares and left. Since then the company has made it big and early on in the series when he had his cancer they offered to lend him money for treatment—something like that. Walt was always suppose to be a brilliant chemist before becoming a teacher.

Re: Breaking Bad

Yeah ...they kindda hinted that Walt and gretchen use to date and then she ended up hooking up with Elliot reason why he left grey matter without any explanation.

That scene where he was explaining the composition of the human body to gretchen is probably the most positive/confident walt that you will ever see walt throughout the whole series.

And in a way seems like a whole different show, you see a lot of heart in it:

Re: Breaking Bad

I'm still shivering from the first time around it ... I need to watch it for a second time in order to get my head straight. I will say that the whole scene with Elliot and Gretchen almost gave me a heart attack...I've never seen a heinsenberg as smooth and psychotic as in that one scene. The tension that had built up until that moment was brilliantly eased off by having those 2 jokers ( badger and skinny pete ) as walts back up's ...I just lol'd.

Re: Breaking Bad

Yeah I'm gonna rewatch it tonight or tomorrow.

My highlights: Elliot & Gretchen VS Walt: Walt sitting in the dark, walking over the close the doors like a BOSS. The cinematography was so good, the couple in the lit up kitchen taking up half the frame, Walt skulking in the dark in the other half, beautiful.

Skylar & Marie: Wow, Marie did a great job and it was so good to see the two sisters rallying together, very strong female characters.

Skylar VS Walt: OMFG. DID NOT SEE THAT AT ALL. WTF. The awesome close ups of Skylar, the long shot of Skylar in the corner that emphasized how alone she is, yet the camera pulling back to reveal Walt behind the supporting pillar, that absolutely blew my mind. The hint of love in Skylar's eyes as Walt said goodbye to Holly ... FUCK!

Walt & M60: This took some suspension, I get that Walt is some chemistry whiz with his homemade explosives and poisons but he MacGyvering that gun platform had me LOL and going WTF at the same time.

Walt VS Jesse: Almost wished they had gotten into an altercation, seemed a bit easy for Jesse to let it go.

Not sure what I was expecting but the episode tied up everything so neatly and well that I still wish there was MORE. There wasn't anything surprising (except for the ricin), everything was almost too smooth and well executed.

#1699614Post 332 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Yeah agree with you Feather, things went a little too smooth for a finale. Ricin was perfectly executed in true BB style. But as for everything else, it seemed as if well, that was too close to call perfection.

Look I'm not going to say this was the greatest of finales, but definitely as a series it was brilliant. I think there should have been more of a twist, remember the first episode from S1? I think I was expecting something more of those lines.

I´ve been always wondering who´d take the ricin... heheheh

Re: Breaking Bad

This type of show is the type of show that all loose ends needed to be addressed. The whole dynamic of this last episode didn't seem like tv it seemed more as if I was watching a movie. I can say now that what really had me on tension was the fact that no one on the series or even us had any clue what was walters state of mind after staying alone in the mountains for so long. Its like we were all waiting for him to snap at any moment... which he actually never did.

Besides the adrenaline rush that this episode represented it was a quite an emotional one as well.

Finally Walter admitted to skylar why he did what he did which went along with the whole idea of what Gilligan had in mind, a guy that goes from Mr. chips to Scarface making a lot of mistakes based on EGO. What a complex character walter is, I love walter white... and I hated him so much but jesus the scene when he went back to his house and had flashback of hank telling him that he was goin to take him out to a drug bust and walt says " maybe some day" made me drop a few tears. How can i hate him ? his alter ego ( heinsenberg) betrayed him so many times and also kept him alive. The finale resolved all my thoughts about his character. Walt took a bullet for jesse, walt killed the nazis , walt got the money to his son, walt apologized to skylar,... what a fucking great character .

I kindda expected that the ricin was for lydia. In my mind i was always thinking that Her death had to be unnoticed just because she was always concern about public exposure or something traceable. Ricin was the perfect way to go for her.

Could possibly be the best finale ever to hit the television. I can't wait for the complete series to come out on NOV on blue ray. I will light a big fat spliff for every episode :D
