it's about a middle age chemistry teacher who snaps after learning he has terminal cancer and decides to go partners with a former student to cook methamphetamine just to screw with the system and make some extra cash for his family.

first episode was really good.

stars bryan cranston (the dad from malcolm in the middle)

small bit of info here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903747/

airs on AMC sunday nights at 10pm

Re: Breaking Bad

Seems like an interesting show...gonna have to go get some off of torrents. Apparently HBO passed on it...from the reviews I read it seems like their loss.

#969121Post 3 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

I watched the first two episodes...great show...I hope they keep it interesting and don't make it pointlessly drag on.

Re: Breaking Bad

3rd episode is on this sunday (feb 10th) i doubt it's gonna go lame. the first two episodes set the tone for the rest of the season, and i think this show will flow just fine. really surprised to hear HBO passed on this. can't imagine another show i need to see right now. since Dexter is in between seasons i'm totally lost. this is a nice fix. ;)

Re: Breaking Bad

well i think dexter kind of got lame after he faced his brother and all...coincidently it really went sour when they changed the little kid who was playing his girlfriends son...at least thats when I stopped watching...

#969128Post 6 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

sour? NO. it's funny to see you quote manson about music yet your opinions on so many other issues are about as shallow as no water in a tub.

try reading the [Dexter] books. ;)

#969133Post 7 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

The books might be good but I think the show is lame...over stating his sociopathy all the time. I understood that the first time I watched the show. Also the fact that everything is explained thoroughly and not much is left for the person watching to figure out on his own.

There were more things that pissed me off but I would have to watch it again to remember.

If you conclude that I am shallow because I don't like Dexter...well that just funny in its own right.

Re: Breaking Bad

nah. shallow takes more for me to notice than a simple disagreement about a tv show, but nevermind me, i dont feel like explanations tonight.

umm, what were we talking about? :Cheerz:

We know he ain't shallow about his Conan! Thanks for the headsup, will check out the show. I'm kinda inbetween stuff to watch too after Dexter, Weeds, Heroes, Entourage, 30 Rock, Californication, ReGenesis:roll:. At least Lost is back, and I'm following this comedy called jPod based off Douglas Coupland's book.

Re: Breaking Bad

no it's crystal. they say when you smoke it, that the high lasts a lot longer than snorting it. and when you inject it it lasts even longer. nasty drug, good show.

Re: Breaking Bad

quality show... been watching it and enjoying it so far. shame the season is cut short thanks to the writers strike. i read a quote saying that AMC is trying to be the HBO of cable, and with shows like this (and apparantly Mad Men) it sounds like its giving FX a run for its money.

#970865Post 18 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

any more info about the season being cut short? how many episodes will we get? this is one of those shows - like dexter - that caught my attention on the first episode. so i'm anxious to find out anything.

#971228Post 19 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

I became hooked on this show after the first episode. Great acting and great story...crossing my fingers they won't cut it short.

Re: Breaking Bad

WOW. what a show. simply baffled at how good this is.

Re: Breaking Bad

yeah, everytime you think that he's gonna do the right thing, he ups and goes the other way. WHY would you not accept help from old friends and then try to do it in some fucked up way.

Seems to me this guy has let his pride get the worst of him.

Re: Breaking Bad

i am simply in awe of this show.

Was wondering when he'd go back to cooking.

#979389Post 25 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Bittorrent  How I watch everything :what

(was referring to the episode which ends with him going back to the dude and "Wanna cook?")

#979395Post 26 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

ahh ok. i was confused as to how you could have seen the episode that just played.

catch up quick, this weeks show was awesome!

Re: Breaking Bad

Man, the episode intro had me going WTF ... and then ... badass!:lol:

Re: Breaking Bad

Any body seen series 2 yet? I think its already been aired in the US. I hope its back on in the UK soon.

#1214121Post 29 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

yeah its almost over by now. to me it hasn't been as interesting as the 1st season. it's got a lot more slow parts, and some of the slow parts really grind down the rest of it.

#1214185Post 30 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Was just catching up on this last night ... I think it's always been kinda slow, but there was some novelty with S1 to see what happens when they started cooking meth. Since then it feels more like a waiting game: The premise is there, but the characters don't really initiate anything in the plot, feels like we're just waiting for things to happen to them.

Re: Breaking Bad

Well the latest episode was intense. Fucking crazy.

#1224447Post 32 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

what a fucking heart attack to see a thread by jibby bumped up like that

#1226287Post 33 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is an incredible production. In all areas of film it scores 110%. I am going to be awaiting the 3rd season patiently!

#1226312Post 34 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Season two was really good after a lull in the middle. The last 3 episodes were amazing.

Looking forward to Mad Men!

#1226329Post 35 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Didn't know Mad Men is back, finally something to watch. Every show I follow had ended its season for 2-3 weeks.

#1229431Post 36 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

MAd Men isnt back until August actually,

But True Blood and Weeds start next week!

#1230482Post 37 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

This show kicks ass! Just watched the end of the 2nd season, and all I have to say is HOLY CRAP. I can't wait for the next season to start up.

#1255511Post 38 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Bit slow but just finished season 1 - Fuck me how awesome is this show. I like the fact there is hardly any emotive music in the show which really gives it a hard edge!

#1255522Post 39 of 361

Re: Breaking Bad

Yeah it gets more hardcore in the latest season.
