"Movie about Bronx cops dealing with the Job. More then a cop movie, it deals with critical life decisions regarding loyalty, respect, courage, and commitment. You will enjoy this film, regardless of what kind of movies you normally like. The sound is awesome, full and fat, with some "old" rock and great underscore. Cinemagraphically, the film has a hard "edge", cold and rough, very well done. The movie is 6 reels, not too long, and goes places you don't expect it to go. "
Re: We Own the Night (2007)

I watched this last night...thought it was pretty good. I really liked the way the relationship between the two brothers is shown.

Re: We Own the Night (2007)

The best scene was when Eva Mendas got her tit out. I thought the movie was slow at times but still good.

Re: We Own the Night (2007)

I saw this movie at a special screening in LA. There were lots of folks there from all walks of life and all ages - the movie seemed to go over very well with everyone in the room. The move is filled with some very tense moments and excellent performances by Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, Robert Duvall and Eva Mendes. Phoenix and Wahlberg work well together as the troubled brothers and Robert Duvall is perfect as always. I've seen some real stinkers at the movies recently (I won't bother you with the list because it's too long) so it was refreshing to see that movies can still be well made with characters you can care about and root for. Since the movie wasn't finished at the time I got to see it, I look forward to enjoying the movie again at local movie theater..

If you really pay attention you will notice that the characters seemed kind of forced. Especially Joaqine, he did such a great job in Walk the Line that this whole movie seems a little below his acting capability and Mark Walberg's also. The whole plot was a little week...IMO8)

Re: We Own the Night (2007)

i thought this was a pretty good flick, especially what was said above. the scene where phoenixs' character went to the drug house was intense. i liked that is was super quiet and they had that little background noise the whole time, made the scene more intense.

Re: We Own the Night (2007)

i'm doing some quick contemplation on buying this, along with american gangster, and dead presidents, they should relatively make for a good weekends watch for sures.

you have to be in the mood to fully absorb this flick, imo. i liked it a a lot, especially the old school club scenes.

Re: We Own the Night (2007)

I thought Dead Presidents was crap ... try King of New York or The Pope of Greenwich Village instead:
