no...conan is not a remake. Obviously you are not a fan. Conan is more than a story about a guy...its like saying the J.R.Tolkin or Terry Prachet write the same stuff over and over again. Robert E. Howard wrote Conan as one of the characters in his made up world of Hyperboria. His stories have so much potential for development if only people would not dismiss them as easily as you just did.

p.s. Conan with Schwarzenegger was a pile of shit compared to what the story could have and should have been like!!! Some fucking German fagot with a wig...as much as I respect him as a body builder that so much more I hate him as an "actor".

I only hope that Hollywood doesn't make a pile of wank again in some form of a PC movie and does make Conan into a brutal psychopath that he is!

Yeah... Conan is one of his characters in the world he created. But there is a Conan saga which is like 30 books or something...I don't know I have read all the comics but I haven't read the books as they are way too long...but no its not the same story over and over again...he meets loads of different characters and does loads of different stuff...its very good. The original comics are good I mean - (there are many shity rip-offs)

Its not really like James Bond as this does have an end...and it ends when he becomes king of Aquilonia or however you spell it and it begins when he is a kid growing up and leaving cimmeria...NOT when his village is slaughtered and he doesn't grow up spinning a wheel for 20 years - so as you can see the film is not really true to the original story - actually the film's are shit IMO.

Well this is coming out in 2010 and its directed by Brett Ratner (x-men the last stand, red dragon, rush hour 1,2,3 , prison break pilot etc) Don't know if it will be good very little information still...just thought I'd add this even though I know I am like the only fan here :)

^^Yeah...its like the only comic I ever read regularly and I grew up on it...you guys had your watchman and whatnot I had Conan thats about it...people tend to dis it without reading the original comics...I still own loads of them...

I'm having a hard time imagining a remake that would do the Arnold Schwarzenegger / John Milius original film any kind of justice. It's just such an iconic role for him (well, maybe not so much the sequel), and even if they were to stick to the books, I doubt that Robert E Howard's vision could be translated very well to screen with the exception of a handful of directors (and Brett Ratner ain't one of them).

Who can deliver a line, much less write one that can compare to this one (which made the movie to me)?

I honestly don't think Arnold did a very good job...the first one was bearable but the second was terrible. Anyway I am sure if they find someone well built, who can actually act, and if they stick to the actual story rather than trying to tell the whole life of the character in one film... they will do well. Its all about the senseless killing and the attractive women...
