New film with the only real heroes staring the likes of Siena Miller Rachel Nichols
Marlon Wayans

Should be interesting....I wanna see who plays the bold black guy that was my favorite. I think he's name was tank or something...

Re: G.I. JOE - the film

G.I Joe is such a cool concept... that said, why are they are dressed in black body suits?
Stephen Sommers will direct (here's hoping he reigns in the CG), from a script by Stuart Beattie. The story is set at Brussels-based GIJOE, an acronym for the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, and revolves around an international co-ed force of operatives who use high-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil org headed by a Scottish arms dealer. --Real Movie News 11/20/07

This has since changed due to overwhelimg negative response from fans and even servicemen.

GiJoe is once again "A real american hero", not an international UN type organization according to Hasbro-

Now all is back to what GI Joe should be and will hopefully remain!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046173/synopsis lol!

Because they're ripping off Metal Gear Solid. They should've stuck to the original designs and make this a campy action film that everyone can watch for nostalgia and a good laugh. But this will probably have some some sort pseudo-serious anti-terrorist undertones and some fail attempt at credibility.

Or maybe there's hope for something fun yet:

Nice... so I just a search for Crissy Moran because I had never heard of her. It definitely looks like she's had experience in film..........

I'm sure she'd do just great.

Re: G.I. JOE - the film

Those suits look pretty lame, like Halo rip-offs. I'd probably watch this on the TV to check out the action and effects, but not worth a cinema ticket. Snake Eyes used to be my favourite character but he looks kinda tacky in the trailer.

Exactly...they are trying to make it all just too sci fi and I am afraid that in the process they ruined the whole thing. Yeah I am not really into this film anymore. I wanted to see all the characters I played with when I was a kid...not a mix between James Bond and X men.

Re: G.I. JOE - the film

I enjoyed the trailer on big screen... so lets see how this pans out. looks like the action will be good maybe not so on the story line.

they should have stick to the original look of the characters rather than updating the costumes

Re: G.I. JOE - the film

marlon wayans in a movie like this is a huge red flag, almost as big as their pride in having the director of the mummy.

Re: G.I. JOE - the film

Saw this last night with a mate of mine. Not sure why, rather than write their own script, they just decided to re-make Team America minus the irony.

This is just crying out for a You Tube mash up - with the Joes flying round in their plane with "America - F*** YEAH!!!" playing over the top!

They did get over the Snake Eyes / Storm Shadow stuff quite well though. The fact it was directed by the guy who did The Mummy probably explains why it was so bad. In fact, if I'd known he'd directed it I probably would have avoided it.

As for Christopher Eccleston - all I can say is at least he wasn't as bad as in "Gone In 60 Seconds"
