Re: Lost Season 4

That actually looks good. Let's hope they tighten up the plot and stop fucking around. Is this the last season or is that season 5?

Can't wait, hopefully the writer's strike will end and there won't be a shortened season.

Re: Lost Season 4

Season 6?! I thought it was ending earlier so they'll stop dicking around and wrap up the story nicely.

At this late date, given the lead time the production needs, the shortened season may be unavoidable. From what I've read, even if the strike were to end this afternoon, they may not be able to get back up and running in time to have another episode ready to go after week 8. Evidently, it is written so that ep. 8 is like a mini-season finale, with some closure of story lines and a minor cliff-hanger, but not to the same extent as if a full season had run.

The writers wanted to wrap it up quickly, as you said, but the network wanted to spread it out, for obvious reasons. The compromise was that the last three seasons are supposed to be 16 episodes each, rather than 2 seasons of 24 episodes. Not sure if, in light of the strike, we'll go 8/24/16, or if this changes it up in some way.

Re: Lost Season 4

Confused, nothing unusual there. But question about one of the flash 'forwards': Jack looked like he's got it together and is back to being a surgeon, while the previous flash 'forward' scene in S3 showed him on meds and basically fucked up. While in previous seasons, it's always been flashbacks so you're sure of the time frame, pre and post plane crash. But these flash forwards are fucking up with my continuity of the series, not even sure when they're taking place now.

I'm pretty sure that the flash-forwards for Hurley in the season 4 premiere were BEFORE those of Jack in the 3rd season finale; when Jack visited Hurley, he mentioned that he was thinking of growing a beard. And of course Jack sports a prominent beard in the flash-forward for Through the Looking Glass, so perhaps that was the main clue as to the time-line; Jack was seemingly enjoying life again, but then sometime after his conversation with Hurley, he deteriorated into the desperate character that wanted to go back to the island.

I love lost :)

Re: Lost Season 4

Yeah, agreed. Finally, bring on the weird. Desmond has a pretty compelling story. Now they just need to bring back those smokey stuff and whatever was tearing down the trees.

Re: Lost Season 4

Yeah tying in the whole Widmore thing to the story I think finally gives LOST that tangible element that we have been waiting so long for, now they can really get strange, can't wait.

Re: Lost Season 4

Damn man ... that episode was sad :( Kinda sneaky for them to mix in clips of Jin and Sun in the flashback. Did anyone notice three dates on the tombstone? 20/03/1980, 27/11/1974, and 22/09/2004. Don't know what the 1980 reference might be, but I'm assuming 1974 is his birth and 2004 is his death.

Re: Lost Season 4

mouch of what he says, sounds pretty plausible ... if his theory ends up to be confirmed at least 60-70%; I feel like a fool who watched 3 and a half seasons without really knowing what is this movie about :)

#986346Post 33 of 83

Re: Lost Season 4

not a bad theory there....

#986363Post 34 of 83

Re: Lost Season 4

But in recent episodes, the time travelling seems to happen in their heads? Their bodies don't travel. In Island Time, Desmond spaces out while he hops into an alternate timeline.

So if a traveller goes back in time and utilizies his past body because his mind is the one that's travelled back from the future, what happens to the original mind that would've been displaced by the future mind?

#986414Post 35 of 83

Re: Lost Season 4

But if it only happened in his head how would Desmond of met the professor causing him to write in his book that Desmond was his constant. He also got the phone number from Penney. So he altered the future by going back and in doing so altered his mind.

#986448Post 36 of 83

Re: Lost Season 4

Hmmm because Daniel was already working on the time travel theory, and he knew that time travellers needed a constant (did he mention it when talking about the rat and why it died? Not sure). So when he met Desmond who claimed that the future Daniel told Desmond to look Daniel up, Daniel realized his theories were right, and jotted down in the notebook that Desmond will be his constant?

Assuming that Daniel knows he will plan experimenting the time travelling on himself so he decided to use Demond as his constant after deciding Desmond is indeed a time traveller?

They're definitely not physically time travelling right? 'Cos there seems to be some sort of subjective time distortion when travelling. Eg. Desmond spaces out for a few seconds on the boat, Sayid sees Desmond and asks if he is ok, while in during those moments, Desmond has gone back in time. Their bodies aren't moving, seems to be all happening in their heads??

Re: Lost Season 4

Liked it, was not my fav this year. Sometimes I wonder if the writers know what the plot is. From what I understand one guy is a total nutter and the other is somewhat normal. You get one guy writing a fucked up story and the other trying to make sense of it. lol.

good stuff. Been a very informative year for LOST .

Re: Lost Season 4

Latest episode is sorta very close to the website's spoiler regarding the plane wreckage, cept it was set up by Whitmore, not Ben. Another good episode.

Well here is my theory.

The writers/producers catch wind of that site and his theory never plays out.

It was cool to read such a cohesive/conclusive theory though.

That's the date the plane crashed. I'm calling it right now -- Jin isn't dead, he's back on the island, but Sun has to pretend that he died in the crash as part of whatever deal she cut to get off the island.
