Yesterday, late nigth I saw a movie on tv. Groove 2000, from the director Steve Van Wormer. It was just at the end when a few guys made a party and guess who was the dj? Digweed! Yes, the man!. What a sorprise for me when in the screen appeared "4:30 am...Digweed". He mixed for about 10 minutes. I didn?t know that he acted in a movie.

Omm

I wouldn't call it "acting." Definitely a classic movie. 4 years ago I watched it so many times while intoxicated that I can't watch it any more.

Re: 2000 groove

i didnt like this movie... thought it was pretty terrible.. if you want a good cameo check out carl cox's in human traffic-that was a good movie

Re: 2000 groove

Human Traffic was definitely a good movie. But I don't like how they had originally said there was going to be a sequel to it, and then put out "it's all gone pete tong" which obviously isn'y a sequel.

Groove in it's own right is the best rave film ever. HT is more a clubbers film. I love watching the part in groove where you hear digweeds box slam to the ground. Every time I hear that I get chills...because you know what kind of madness happens when they guy is around.

Re: 2000 groove

the movie was good 4 years ago.. I tried watching it again but it was major cheese ball... Not sure why... Seemed kinda phony.. Especially that one part with that rookie dj was tryin to mix and he was getting nervous.. sounded like he was mixing on Rebirth or something... Digweed was dope but wasnt an Oscar performance.. hahah..

i'm sure most of you have seen this. i remember seeing this in the theaters. still love watching it before i go out. kinda like the electronic version of Swingers to me.

favourite line:

dude: I'd like to buy a vowel. Cliff: 'E' or 'A'? dude: 'A'. I'd like to solve the puzzle. "Lysergic Acid Diethylamide". dude 2: Tell him what he's won. Cliff:: An all-expense-paid trip to your cerebral cortex. Thanks for playing.

Re: Groove

Yeah Digweed is a better DJ than he is an actor.

Re: Groove

It was so-so. I enjoyed Human Traffic a lot more, despite Groove being more of a 'rave' film. Human Traffic scores for humor and some crazy scenes, like the dope politics, the star wars conversation in the kitchen, and when they racked up the lines on the glass table and laughed at each other's reflections, ace. Even the scene when the guy crashed and went paranoid. Felt like a more accurate depiction than Groove was. I did like the Groove poster with the guy sitting in the train and the huge disco ball on his lap.

Been awhile since I listened to it. Gave me goosebumps all over when I'd listen to it. I love how in the movie, Digweed is playing, there's the build up and then the scene cuts to an early morning shot. Leaving you hanging, wanting more...

THAT is the sign of an AWESOME director and director of photography. That climax was one of the best in film history IMHO.

Re: Groove

i like the movie, but hate how cheesy it is. i prefer human traffic. i agree with the notion of human traffic is more of a clubbing film and groove is more of a raving film; however is there really anyway to express the feeling of a true rave in a film? the closeness of everyone there, the unification of everyones hearts, souls and minds all revolving around one focal point? dont think that any film could come close the experience of attending an actual rave.

if you havent seen, Better Living Through Chemistry is an older documentary from back in the day with guests such as Keoki, Rabbit in the Moon, Electric Sky Church etc. not a bad film, however; i will forewarn you, it's all kinds of plur.

Re: Groove

It wasn't cheesy back when It was made. But unfortunately when you look back on something like this it really does seem cheesy.

Re: Groove

Just an update if you have HBO. It just came back on Saturday and has been playing fairly regularly since then.
