This is another movie staring DeCaprio which looks to be really good.

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/blooddiamond/hd/

If it is half as good as The Departed it should be great. It also has Djimon Hounsou in it who I think is a kickass actor. Also it stars the hottest chick in the world Jennifer Connelly which pretty much makes it a must see for me....

I saw the preview for this when I went and saw Flags of Our Fathers, and I really want to see this. I think it looks like a really good movie. Not sure what I think about Dicaprio in the roll, but we shall see

Re: Blood Diamond

Ok....so I saw this. Only reason was three lovely ladies asked me to go so I went. :)

Anyways....harsh movie. I know that was the point. Seeing kids forced to murder people was hard. And to think this is really happening is just mind boggling. Here I am after the movie, enjoying a drink with three beautiful women, not a care in the world and I'm thinking this is f*cked up knowing half way across the world mass genocide and other atrocities are happening.

*and Connelly? Beautiful.

admit it. you're in it for Jennifer Connelly too. :Naughty:

from the trailer, it looks as if decaprio is also suffering puffy disease. for other examples of this look at vince vaughn and john favreau.

Re: Blood Diamond

he's got the most fake accent in this film. You can't truly tell where the hell he is supposed to be from. It sounds like he's a southern american welshman. It sounds so damn stupid to my ears.

obviously you aren't familiar with the south african area accent, because he did a really good job with it.

Re: Blood Diamond

ok, not a dicaprio fan talking. he was super brilliant, come on guys...if al pacino was the man learning to speak with a perfect cuban accent in scarface what about leonardo di caprio? sometimes people just comment whether they like the actor or not, and this is one example. movie was brilliant, di caprio was super brilliant

Re: Blood Diamond

Good flick. A little preachy but good. I thought dicaprio was really good. Definitely recommend this one.

Re: Blood Diamond

Caught this movie a few weeks back. The movie overall is pretty good although they could've done a little better with the storyline in terms of connecting all the random people together. Casting too was a mixed bag.

Djimon Hounsou (Solomon) was probably the worst part of the movie for me. I personally feel he added nothing creative/original to his part and the movie, making him a pretty drastic casting error. Only adding to this casting mistake was his acting. Overacting / overreacting and over-enthusiastical expressions to the point of being unnatural got annoying to where I actually wanted to fast-forward his scenes.

Jennifer Connolly did what she could do best but then again and while not in a negative light, I feel they could've easily picked up another actress more befitting her role (seeing her in Dark Water really put things off for me). Nicole Kidman would've probably been better - if not just as good.

Finally, to what makes this movie a fantastic watch even if I turn it on for the 4th time now is Leonardo DiCaprio. I cant even start to describe how frickin amazing DiCaprio is in this movie. I am absolutely disappointed that he didn't win an Oscar for his role.

Playing the young, out for a quick buck, ex soldier with a bad childhood wrapped into a Rhodesian accent is beyond praise. I mean it. From all the movies with all the greatest actors I have seen so far, Dicaprio probably holds top spot for me. Only adding to the icing of his spectacular performance is the consistency of his accent through every single one of his dialogues. I mean not once did you feel a slip up on his part.

"I'm from Rhodesia bruh" ..

Considering the fact that he plays the lead role has tremendously helped the quality of the movie. I'd easily give it an 8/10. This is a must see.

finally saw this. I suck at reviews so i'll just say i really liked it and will watch it again.

Re: Blood Diamond

Just watched it on DVD and I'm with Kamal on DiCaprio's performance. Hell, this has gotta be his best role ever. The accent, the soul he puts into it, the credibility. This is by far the best acting I have seen over the past years...

Blood diamond has gotten a special place in my collection. A must see indeed, especially with the crap Hollywood has been throwing at us lately! 9,5 kinks
