Directed by Guillermo Del Toro, the guy who did Hellboy. This flick looks awesome and has been getting some good reviews. It looks like a fairy tale dream turned into a nightmare. Can't wait to see this one.

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

Second best film of 2006 IMO, only after 'The Departed' which is a fine example of how to remake a film well.

I await his next film 3993 (2009).

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

Looks absolutely wicked. Alice in Wonderlan meets Labyrinth. Kinda reminds me of Mirrormask but much better realized and executed.

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

More like Hellraiser than any of those. Either way it's a great fable.

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

When is this thing gonna have a full release?

#787111Post 19 of 40

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

I have to say, the first 30 min were slow. However, the movie was beautifully done and the message that it slowly diffuses through your mind is so elegant and so simple.

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

Just came back from it, still mulling over the film. It's defintely well done, that's for sure, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My date thought it was weird and wouldn't recommend it to friends

If you need to debate, don't do it.

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

I agree that it is rather slow at the start...sorta seems like a childrens movie....but by the end, its clear this is no childrens movies. The "monsters" are fantastic, especially the albino chap! I'd like to know what sort of trip the writier was when he created this.

I finally got to see this tonight. this movie is way more violent than I had expected. there were quite a few scenes that my girlfriend had to turn away from. that dude feasting at the table

awesome movie, 5 pickles for sure.

#796738Post 38 of 40

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

Re: Pan's Labyrinth

just saw this - great images and effects, definetly stomach churning at times; great idea for a story.

My only negative comment is that they didnt really bring the two storylines together with enough force at the end. They sort of left it up to you to decide the interpretation of the story, which in some cases is fine - but they had the entire movie leading upto bring the two peices togehter and they didnt really do that well in the end.

Still an excellent film, well worth watching.
