can't believe there are no threads about this one...

from what i've caught so far (i'm a little behind, been lazy with my bit torrenting), this is living up to the hype. I'm so happy to see aaron sorkin back writing a good series with a cast that has just bucketloads of potential.

I will say, its not as good as the west wing so far, but really i don't think anything is gonna top that show for me. Pretty hard to top Martin Sheen, Alisson Janey, Richard Schiff, etc...

Its also very very strange to see Brad Whitford doing a character other than Joshua Lyman. Especially one that has a coke problem! I just want him to yell "Donna!", just once on this show.

I am still waiting for a true "sorkin moment", and the cast doesnt seem like its jelling quite yet, but i expect great things from this one.

ohh, and go buy west wing on dvd. that is all.

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

I like this show, a lot. Its one of the better of the new season imho.

The writting and direction are great. . . and fill the gap left by the wonderful West Wing.

The cast, headed by Whitford and Perry (a complete pleasent suprise), are great and draw you into the trials and tribulations of their daily inter-relationships.

Love it love it love it!!!!

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

Really? I thought this show was going to be lame so I haven't even checked it out. I guess I will have to find someone who has Tivo'd it so I can check it out... I still think it has weak sauce written all over it because of Matt Perry but I will def give it a shot.

Cheers:)

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

actually matt perry is showing he was the only ''friend'' with real acting talent as opposed to sitcom zingers.... this show is really well done, with unbelievable character development.

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

its basically the west wing but instead of the presidential theme, its an SNL type show. cant be bad.

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

last nights was a two parter, and it was great! god sorkin has brought so many former west wing people on to the show...now even john goodman (who was in some episodes of season 4 & 5 on WW).

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

damn good one tonight. wonder what show gonna get aired. highlights look like goodman is gonna screw it up.

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

I heard a rumor that this show might get canned due to poor ratings. Anyone read the same thing?

#771105Post 18 of 28

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

yes. they don't seem to be pushing it very hard like they were when it first started. it won't get canned early imo, they have picked it up for and will let it run for a full season, but i doubt they'll renew it for a second. shame.

Last night was not a new episode rightt????

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

monday's episode...

talk about art imitating life. can't believe matt perry would be willing to do an episode where he is popping pills...

excellent flashbacks as well, great to see some backstory.

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

What pills was Perry taking in that episode?

#804572Post 24 of 28

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

some sort of amphetamine, i'm assuming...

#804895Post 25 of 28

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

I didn't understand the purpose of those pills. Did they get him high? Helped him focused (evidently not)? He didn't look like he was having the time of his life on the pills either. They looked like pharms. Anti-depressants?

Re: Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

pharmaceutical speed to stay awake and work, makes most people high-strung and wierd. fun isn't really the name of the game.

she gave him downers at the end, to sleep...i think.
