waited so long. it's going to be a smash. i have heard rumors that they may release it on Itunes the day of or the day prev. not sure if that makes a lot of sense. but i guess it does if you look at the market share for iPod vs TV.

news is that they are behind production schedule and when the new season starts they are only going to air 4 episodes and go on a long break before they resume the season

possible... a new episode of the wire on hbo becomes available on hbo on demand every monday, but the episode doesnt premier until the following sunday, so people that have on demand get it a week before people who dont. (although if yuo have hbo dont you have on demand?)

It's actually by design. They got a lot of flack last season for the on-again, off-again flow, with repeats and no clue when there would be a significant break between episodes. They are doing two groupings of shows -- 6 in the fall, and then 20+ starting in the winter. Once a group starts, there will be no repeats and the show will go continuously, similar to what they do now with 24.

BTW, the 6 episodes at the front end are supposed to be like a mini-series upon itself, with a mini-finale in the 6th episode. They aren't just taking a break at an arbitrary spot, there is some method to the madness.

I'm excited about the new format. If I can't have a new Lost every week, as least I know exactly what to expect and when to expect it. There was nothing more frustrating last season than when a show would end and the previews for the next show would announce that the show would be back in a month or so...

Can't wait for Season 3, BTW -- best show on TV!!!!

i am also very stoked. with the new upgrades to the iPod format, I getting pretty damn close to dvd quality on the tube. I just can not wait. I hope they do a pre-release. would great for us loyal iPod heads.

yesterday at work someone was quizing me with nicknames that sawyer has dished out in the two seasons ... i was 14/16. I thought that was pretty good. :lol:

i have a feeling that might just be the case at the end just like how x-files was at the end ... it just fizzled ... but then again the ride to the end is so strong that it might just be worth it ;)

agreed, although x-files went 9 seasons or something, cant see lost going more than 5 at most. which is about right.

As long as the show keeps going off into the Hanso Foundation and Dharma Project tangents and kills off Charlie and Claire everything will work out fine. As for the X-Files the minute Chris Carter started Millienum(sp?) X-Files went right into the shitter, damn shame Seasons 2-6 are a great way to get over a tough hangover.

Yup, exactly how I see it.. I have to admit though, after I watched Season 2 twice over, I much preferred it over Season 1... who knows Season 3 might out do itself.

dude, that was fucking gangbusters! Finally got to watch it last night. The opening scene had me falling out of my chair, and the episode as a whole was amazing!! I was actually upset when it ended because I knew I'd have to wait a week for more...

Agreed ... great first episode. Love the way each season's opener starts off so innocuous and then you get a headfuck when the camera zooms out. The whole episode was great. Seeing Jack's relationship with his father, the divorce, and him being fucked and broken at the end of the episode. Just when you feel sorry for him, the whole mood shifts and turns sinister. Great ending.
