yep. show has lost some of its relevance, I think. Part of it, honestly, is that SNL used to really come into its own with its political humor, but with The Daily Show and The Colbert Report doing that sort of thing 4 days a week, and doing it better, SNL seems passe.

^ so true. i watched last weeks show, mighta been a repeat, with Julia Louise-Dreyfus (elaine on seinfeld) and it was drab. quite boring and i found myself watching other stuff and switching back occasionally to see if it had improved.

it didn't

What was funny about SNL for so long is that is was raw and right on point. When you got done laughing, it was like "holy shit, I cant believe they just said that". The show called out the truths that most of the country knew and made jokes about it in a really clever way.

I watch it when I get the chance. always a fan.

so was it better back when it had the "original cast" or was it better before we had The Daily Show or The Colbert Report? :roll:

I'm guessing it was better 15 years ago because 15 years ago we still enjoyed saturday morning cartoons

I think SNL is an hour only when you watch reruns. Normally it is 1.5
