This looks really good, plus it has Scarlett and Mia Kirshner in it:iloveyou:

It doesnt hurt that it is based on a James Ellroy novel and directed by Brian De Palma, probably the movie I am looking forward to most that is coming out soon...

Re: The Black Dahlia

looks good indeed. plus its part of the trilogy of books that included LA Confidential, which also kicked ass. should be quality.

Re: The Black Dahlia

can't wait for this one. the cast looks great and De Palma is one of the best.

Re: The Black Dahlia

Definitely waiting to rent this, just curious, what was the other movie that was part of the Trilogy then?

Re: The Black Dahlia

it was actually a quartet of books... only two of which have been made into movies.

  1. the black dahlia
  2. the big nowhere
  3. l.a. confidential
  4. white jazz

I just saw this - I didnt know it was part of a trilogy - it IS very similar in movie style to LA confidential. liked it a lot - you gotta pay attnetion tho - lots of plot twists and turns!

Re: The Black Dahlia

Yeah I thought this wasn't very good...I've had it on DVD for a long time so I didn't think it was that new...LA confidential is the shit compared to this! And anyway I wanted to ask how is it a trilogy if there are four parts to it?!

Re: The Black Dahlia

this movie had great potential. but two people ruined it.

josh hartnett --> why? because he isn't tough. he has a queer name and is not a good action guy

hillary swank --> why? because she isn't hot, even when she tries to be. and she over acts every scene in this movie.

i only stomached it til the end cos i wanted hartnett to get shot in the face.

Re: The Black Dahlia

I haven't seen the movie but the book was great. A little long but worth it.

Yeah I agree with this compleatly! I would also like to add that there just isn't enough tenssion in the film unlike L.A. confidential which keeps you glued to your seat!
