Cars?? The incredibles?? thouse two films were really bad.

This movie on the other hand looks great!

Incredibles was my favorite Pixar flick, Cars sucked. And it's animation, not anime, get it right.

incredibles and cars were too human, pixar movies w/ stuff that is less human like is better imo. that is why this w/ a rat being the main char will be better than those.

I get your point but for me, Incredibles had incredible art direction. They captured the mood and feel of the genre / era beautifully. That's what got me.

Well, I do. :) My 3 year old daughter is already looking forward to see this movie with the mouse. A rat is a mouse to her, yet. :)

I am sure the Pixar will inevitably fail to produce a giant hit at one point sometime in the future, although I am sure Ratatouille will not be that movie. I hated Cars when its trailer came out, and it did not make any sense to me whatsoever. Having seen the movie a couple times (remember, I have a child... :)), I like it much now. I'd say it's not at the level of say, Toy story or Nemo, but a very good movie regardless.

I'm with [I]mgabrielm[/I] ! These "new" movies aren't as good as Nemo or Monsters Inc. etc from the past, but except Shrek there are cool :-)

I'm a huge animation buff, so no matter what I will check it out. Agreed that the "new" movies aren't as good.. but come on guys.. The Incredibles was pretty darn good animation.. IMHO

It is Excellent - probably the best anime I've seen in the last 2-3 years. the whole theater was laughing non stop

Good and enjoyable but I think at some points, the movie was feeling kinda draggy. The finale scenes with the rats in the kitchen, and the critic's taste of ratatouile were the hightlights for me. I thought the movie couldn't decide whether to speak to the children or the adults in the audience.

Oh yeah... I thought the movie was great. The kids loved it. I wish more rats would have died though. I loved the part where you saw all of the dead rats in the window. It gave me wood. The wife noticed.
