anyone waiting to watch this?? personally im gonna be watching this just 'cos im too lazy to read the book .... but i have a feeling that it would be a stinker since theres not a single press screening for the movie yet :what

Re: The DaVinci Code

definetly gonna watch it..... got to be carefull though ... IT IS fiction ... i think a lot of people are gona walk out the theater confused. but you have to keep in mind that almost all of the facts are not proven to be true. About the press conferences.. the novel goes against the church.. now the church is a very powerfull institution, not easy to go against it.

it'll be a good one anyway
IT IS fiction ...
DOH .... that sounds like a nobrainer .... even the bible is fiction ... for those who cant tell the difference between fiction aka this movie/book and non-fiction aka real-life .. i suggest they get a life instead of reading too much of the other fiction book aka the bible :what

Re: The DaVinci Code

i'll be seeing this, book was pretty good, definately a page turner... definately was begging for a movie to be made. if they stuck to the book pretty closely, which i assume they did, should be an entertaining movie for sure. definately a good cast too (i'm in love with audrey tatou).

what i talking about is that theres gonna be a lot of people that are gona leave the theater thinking how much lying the church have been doing and what not.....it dosent matter if they follow or not.. everyone knows how the story goes

Re: The DaVinci Code

I can't wait to see this one. After all the fame that Dan Brown got,and all the opposition for the book.I think it is gonna be a good one .Tom Hanks is great and the story already is so attractive....

Re: The DaVinci Code

I can't ait for this one. I'm a big fan of the book and i know the movie won't be as good as the book but i'm just gonna go and have a good time!!!

Re: The DaVinci Code

I have no desire to see this movie.

I always stay away from the "fictional with possibly a thread of truth syndrome" films. Just because it possibly, kinda, sorta, could of happened dosen't mean it did. If you look in the phone book a Harry Potter exists too. I guess then that movie is real also?

Bottom line is its a bad movie (by most all critical accounts) about a made up story. What's the hurry to go see? So you can say it sucks too?

Re: The DaVinci Code

movie sucks ass. dont waste your money on this piece of shit. what a fucking rip off ... the book was good. Ron Howard you Suck Dick.

Re: The DaVinci Code

went to see it yesterday... sucks... I would say, watch it on divx, but then you'll feel bad about the time and download traffic you put into it.... not worth a look, although I like Audrey Tautou a lot on screen... Tom Hanks acts like he doesn't give a shit in this movie...

#640112Post 24 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

I saw it last night. I haven't read the book, but I wasn't impressed at all with the movie. Good acting, bad story imo. it leaves no desire to go read the book. don't waste your money on this... wait for video if you have to see it.

Re: The DaVinci Code

Weird how some people hate it so much and I actually really liked it. I haven't read the book and now I can't wait to read it.

Yes at times it was a little out there, but I thought the story was cool. I wouldn't put it past the catholic church to make something like that up and then go to the extremes to make sure it stays a secret. Movies like that always make me want to research more.

Re: The DaVinci Code

it was pretty much the book in live action...

enjoyed it, 6/10

#640262Post 27 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

Average thriller, a little slow paced but enjoyable. Not as bad a critics say.

#640328Post 28 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

Didn't read the book and after reading the critics I thought it was going to be shit , but it was an OK movie, not as good as I expected when first I heard it was coming out , the end was a bit slow and boring.

#640387Post 29 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

Wasn't that bad but Tom Hanks should be shot. Same goes for Audrey Tatou. After she's been raped by 20 Opus Dei members that is. I can't believe how much their shit acting fucked up an entire movie which imo had some good elements...

#640438Post 30 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

I didnt think it was that bad.....I think the people who said it was too long would have been the same people complaining if it was too short and that they didnt follow the book.............

#640746Post 31 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

well either some say it sucks i gotta watch to make an opinion of my own.. im just starting to read angels & demons and looks as it is an interesting thriller.

Re: The DaVinci Code

i thought this movie was a total garbage, yet mildly entertaining.

#641046Post 33 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

I actually liked the movie, is not the best movie of all times, but is not the worst. All I can say is that they did a good job with the plot, I didn't like Tom Hanks as Robert but what can we do? Bottom line is that it was entertaining and it is not as good as the book, but it is really hard for a movie to top a book!!

#641053Post 34 of 53

Re: The DaVinci Code

Always like movies that piss off millions of church goers, but I have to admit the acting was horrible and I had much much much higher expectations. At some points I felt bad for the actors. Story and scenes were cool however.

Re: The DaVinci Code

I thought this movie has been one of the movies which has sold most tickets in the first week!

Re: The DaVinci Code

Watched it last night, hadn't read the book. I personally liked it...... Though right around the time when they reached the little basement room in the church where it's revealed to Sophie that she's Jesus's descendant, the movie had started to really drag. Thought it ended by the time the cripple was arrested (which I had just about enough of).

Overall, I'd give it a definite 6 / 10 (Like pelo did). If you haven't read the book, it's a worthy watch in the theater. Not cause it's got fancy sound effects that a theater system will do justice for, but simply because of the entertainment factor of watching it on the big screen (which it does deserve).

As for putting Christianity in a whole new light....... all I can say is WOW!.
