Lincoln Six-Echo (McGregor) is a resident of a seemingly utopian but contained facility in the mid 21st century. Like all of the inhabitants of this carefully controlled environment, Lincoln hopes to be chosen to go to the "The Island" - reportedly the last uncontaminated spot on the planet. But Lincoln soon discovers that everything about his existence is a lie. He and all of the other inhabitants of the facility are actually human clones. Lincoln makes a daring escape with a beautiful fellow resident named Jordan Two-Delta (Johansson). Relentlessly pursued by the forces of the sinister institute that once housed them, Lincoln and Jordan engage in a race for their lives to literally meet their makers.

Cool movie, especially when the Ewan McGreggor double comes into play. Gotta love that Scottish shite accent :D

Re: The Island (2005)

interesting! I just saw this movie on DVD for the first time last night! The futuristic atmosphere was very cool! But the story line itself was "ehh" .... not really surprising if that's what you were hoping :X

Re: The Island (2005)

There were too many holes in the story. The action sequences, too long and too winded, after a while it seemed to be action for action's sake. I wouldn't have bothered with this one, but it looked interesting enough for a rental, but I should've waited for cable instead...

Re: The Island (2005)

I thought this was a cool movie. It wasn't good. It wasn't thought provoking. The ideas in it are mainly borrowed and sewn together. It was a big budget, high action flick with plenty of screen time for fine ass Scarlett Johansson.

Re: The Island (2005)

I liked it cause of scarlett but other than that it lacked any sort of storyline plus the ending was lame.

Re: The Island (2005)

Saw this today , thought it had 40 first minutes of brilliance and then it was just ok , oh my scarllet is hawt :LoveYou:

I think Michael bay has to be my fav "commercial" director , so many entertaining movies , sure all his movies leaves me with nothing but I sure have a good time .

Re: The Island (2005)

I liked it - the freeway scene reminded me a bit of the matrix reloaded one
