Anyone read this book? I just got done watching the movie, I can't figure out why King would let someone absolutely butcher his book, the end of that movie was pitiful.

Dreamcatcher...
Re:: Dreamcatcher...
the movie sucked hard core. try this
The book was good though.
i cant read. :cry:
I loved the movie.
Then I read the book, and yes... they went Hollywood on that ending. The book is a lot better, as it usually is, I prefer imagining things myself. The movie is really well made (over his own script) the way they pictured how this guy was trapped inside his mind and the alien controlled the body and most of his mind, that's really tough to pass form writing to a screen.
Re:: Dreamcatcher...
I read this book before I watched the movie. The book had me freaked out at the beginning but wasn't as good halfway through to the end. I definately liked the book more than the movie but I think it was a pretty good conversion. There was just alot more detail in the book of course. Did anybody last long enough to see all of Kingdom Hospital? I watched the first one and decided it was lame ass and didn't watch the rest.
As with most of Kings books,the film versions usually end up very poor,with the exception of misery,green mile,shawshank and stand by me.
The book dreamcatcher was good,havent seen the film,have no intention of either.
Re:: Dreamcatcher...
To be honest i wasn't very surprised with the movie.I didn't read the book yet.
i got half way thru the movie and shut if off, what a load of shite. but reading these posts, i might go ahead and read the book tho
Re:: Dreamcatcher...
I saw the movie as well. The beginning was really good but after the middle and towards the end.. it got wack.
The beginning was very interesting and sort of suspensful. I actually thought that's the way King ended it too...
I'm gonna read the book now....
Thanks.

Don't forget The Shining!
Heres Johnny! :RockOn:
the movie was terrible.. started interestingly, ended up awful. never have read the book, my fave king books were cujo and insomnia :twisted:
yes the movie was terrible. it started out well, just like when you take a hot girl home ... smells great, tastes great, ... and finally you find out the she is a he.
bummer. :cry:
The detail and the imagery that king goes into with telepathy and being inside the mind are outstanding in the book. Something a movie could never touch on

Re:: Dreamcatcher...
Boring book, worse movie.
I honestly don't think King has written too much that's been worthwhile since The Tommyknockers, with Misery being one of the exceptions.
The movie is a complete shit.
Hey Jibs ... out of respect you should CAP Allah. He is a God, so you must show respect. :lol:
Now, where is that nakid ass? :wink:
