I had a buddy that went to the premiere last night. He said it was fucking sick.

Re: V for Vendetta

It's nearly the exact same movie as The Matrix.

That being said, it's still quite good, but I just wish it wasn't quite as close to the matrix as it was. Green lens filters, slo mo wire fuish moments, the relationship btwn V and Evie is similar to Morpheus and Neo and even the director was an assistant director for the matrix triology.

Re: V for Vendetta

i cycled home one day and went straight through a shoot for this film. They were shooting in Camden, North London. right by a bridge over the railway before you come up to Regents Park.

Attached a link for Google Earth. Just change the extension from .zip to .kmz

They had big billboards with nothing but the "V for Vendetta" tagged on a white background.

I later read about the filming and I knew I should have checked out the actors more at the time when I read Natalie Portman was in it!

#583025Post 11 of 54

Re: V for Vendetta

Not only Natalie Portman is in.... Its a film of the creators of the Matrix & for the leading part they've chosen Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith), a very promising actor!!

#583041Post 12 of 54

Re: V for Vendetta

Weaving has been promising for years ... another one of those underrated actors.

Re: V for Vendetta

I actually really LOVED it! Great story, provokative, thrilling, visually beautiful, and a talk-about flick. I love movies like this that provoke controversy and most importantly, conversation, about the film, politics, beliefs, etc... I thought Natalie was great, and Hugo Weaving (although you never saw his face) was terrific! It could mean so much to many different people.

Wonderfully entertaining given our current events. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion-so why'd you hate it?

ASSHOLE.

Re: V for Vendetta

I have mixed feelings about this movie. I liked the way the movie got you thinking about what the world could be like. However, some of the movie just didn't seem at all plausible and at times seemed a little long. I caught myself looking at my watch a couple of times.

I wouldn't mind seeing it again when it comes out on DVD to form a better opinion.

#591283Post 26 of 54

Re: V for Vendetta

I felt the exact same way superdave. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but there were times where I was having a hard time accepting parts of the movie and also thought it dragged at times.

It also took me a while to get over the cheesiness of the mask

Re: V for Vendetta

I haven't seen it, but the original comic was about 1998. So has this movie been adapted to a future from now (as opposed to depicting 1998)?

Re: V for Vendetta

Re: V for Vendetta

saw this yesterday, i thought it was one of the shittiest movies i've seen recently. the dialogue was shit, the main character "V" was shit, i almost fell asleep it was so boring.

dont waste your money, they should have called this movie "R" for Refund.

Re: V for Vendetta

I enjoyed this movie thouroughly.

#594549Post 34 of 54

Re: V for Vendetta

i thought the movie was good not great... the way the dialogue told the story made it quite boring @ parts but the concept and storyline was made to be believable and I thought it ended up being pretty good, definately not great though... entertaining flick with a shady underlying approach to it, (best way I can describe it) Cheers :Cheerz:

Re: V for Vendetta

I saw this movie along with Ultraviolet. UV was one of the worst movies that I've ever seen, the nudity wasn't even with it. V was a great movie I thought. The plot wasn't that bad and there wasn't an over kill of graphics within the movie either. I look forward to the future tracks that will be made with samples from this movie.

ps. This is my first post in over so many years.. I'm making my return to the site ;)
